Korea Investment Holdings (KIH) held each subsidiary’s board of directors’ meeting and carried out a reshuffle of executives, including Senior Executive Vice President Kim Sung-hwan of Korea Investment & Securities (KIS), who was nominated as KIS president.

New KIS President Kim, born in 1969, moved from Kyobo Life to LG Investment & Securities in 1994 before adjourning to Dongwon Securities, the predecessor of KIS in 2004.
President Kim was promoted to head of the Real Estate Financial Center to be the youngest vice president. Kim was on a roll, as he was promoted to chief of the Real Estate Financial Division and to head of the IB Group in 2016.
Kim was promoted to senior executive vice president in charge of overseeing management and planning in 2017, one year after he became the head of the IB Group.
He has been overseeing retail and asset management business sectors as head of the Individual Customer Group.
President Jung Il-moon, who has led KIS for the past five years, is to step down from management, and he is to be promoted to vice chairman.
Executive Vice President Chun Chan-woo of Korea Investment Savings Bank was nominated as president of the savings bank.
Korea Investment Savings Bank president-nominee, born in 1970, has focused his career in areas such as sales and products and planning after he entered the savings bank in 2001.
A KIS official said, “The reshuffle focused on further growth by paying attention to long-term trends and the direction of changes rather than uncertainties amid stark outside and inside environment conditions, and it focuses on exploring changes in growth strategies by nimbly coping financial environment changes while maintaining the stability and continuity of business achievements.”
Korea Investment & Securities Launches Private Equity Fund Operability and Risk Analysis Services
Korea Investment & Securities said on Nov. 29 that it was launching fund operability and danger analysis services targeting private fund companies dealing with prime brokerage service (PBS).
PBS is the security lending and borrowing and credit facility securities company offers.
The latest services are designed to analyze the operation of funds in an objective and systematic fashion using the “Barra Portfolio Manager, an achievement and risk analysis tool of Morgan Standly Capital International (MSCI).
They are targeting about 70 products, such as domestic stock-traded funds and bond funds among PBS contract private equity funds. A monthly report will be issued after analyzing each product with 30 detailed indices.
