Celebrating the 15th anniversary, Smart GEO Expo 2023 will be held at KINTEX in Goyang, north of Seoul, from Nov. 8 to Nov. 10.
The expo will be hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) and jointly organized by LX, LH, Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements (KRIHS), and Spatial Information Industry Promotion Agency (SPACEN).
The expo will be held under the theme ¡°Digital Earth: Better Life for All.¡± It will serve as an opportunity to showcase the latest spatial information convergence and multi-disciplinary technologies and promote business exchanges and collaboration for the development of the geospatial industry.
About 130 companies will showcase the latest technologies and products at 250 booths. Approximately 13,000 spectators are expected to participate in the expo.
The expo will have six theme pavilions, such as advanced industry, public service and aerospace as well as experience pavilions outfitted with the latest geospatial information technologies.
Spectators at the pavilions will be given the opportunity to look at firsthand and experience technologies such as virtual reality using AR technologies, disaster site robots, smart construction sites and bridges and tunnels using IoT.

In particular, the Smart GEO Expo 2023 will coincide with 37 conferences in the technology, convergence, academic and policy sectors, a step designed to reflect the extendability of the geospatial information industry.
Among the conferences are International-level conferences including ICGIS (Int'l Conference on Geospatial Information System) and the Digital Twin Conference.
The global session with experts from 15 countries taking place in attendance will have the 4th ¡°FIG Young Surveyors¡¯ Workshop¡± and ¡°Open-Innovation Geospatial Information Consortium Conference,¡± the first such event of the Smart GEO Expo.
Prof. Dennis Hong of UCLA Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, dubbed ¡°Leonard da Vinci in the Robot Sector,¡± will give a special lecture.
There will be also a job concert with seniors with international organizations and the government and the ¡°nationwide college students¡¯ capstone idea contest¡± to reinvigorate employment in the geospatial information sector.
LX President Kim Jung-yeol said, ¡°Celebrating the 15th anniversary, the Smart GEO Expo is Asia¡¯s biggest geospatial information platform among industry, academic and research circles, and the expo will serve as an opportunity for geospatial information companies to expand their extendability and create added values by laying foothold for their overseas market entry.¡±
