Company focuses its capabilities on hydrogen and bio sectors

HD Hyundai Oilbank is aiming to make a shift into an eco-friendly energy platform to bolster sustainable growth.
 
The refinery company is expanding and transitioning eco-friendly future businesses based on experiences and facilities the company has accumulated from its conventional refinery and petrochemical operations. 

To this end, HD Hyundai Oilbank has been implementing diverse eco-friendly new businesses, such as reutilizing lubricants and building eco-friendly energy infrastructure, on top of the three eco-friendly future businesses - blue hydrogen, white bio and eco-friendly chemical material businesses. 




A hydrogen trailer is charged at a high-purity hydrogen refinery facility at the Daesan plant of HD Hyundai Oilbank in Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do.


First of all, HD Hyundai Oilbank is expanding the hydrogen ecosystem through blue hydrogen production, storage and utilization. 

The company has been implementing hydrogen fuel cell power generation using blue hydrogen and development of ammonia cracking catalysis for producing clean hydrogen by striking strategic MOUs with global companies to build hydrogen supply infrastructure. 

HD Hyundai Oilbank is carrying out a 20MW hydrogen fuel cell power generation project in accordance with the launch of the clean hydrogen production standard (CHPS). 

HD Hyundai Oilbank is implementing a next-generation white bio project as a future growth engine. 

The company has established a three-stage bio business roadmap, calling for the construction of a bio diesel production plant, producing a next-generation aircraft oil, and entering the biochemical business market. 

HD Hyundai Oilbank is currently building a bio diesel production plant. 

The company plans to expand eco-friendly product value chains by producing biofuel and biochemical products. 

As for the eco-friendly chemical material business, the company is now working on the study on hydrogen fuel cell electrolyte materials, and it is making preparations to expanding the electrolyte sector. 

HD Hyundai Oilbank is considering developing a low-carbon fuel or material transition technology by capturing carbon. 

The company is also preparing for the ushering of an era of circulation economy by developing a waste lubricant reuse refinery technology and speeding up waste plastic pyrolysis oil business. 

HD Hyundai Oilbank plans to install high-speed EV chargers at gas stations in the Seoul metropolitan area with insufficient EV charging facilities. 

HD Hyundai Oilbank has restructured its operation structure to concentrate on eco-friendly new business capabilities. 

The company has inaugurated new business departments related to bio, hydrogen, circulation economy and eco-friendly chemical materials. 

It has changed the name of the domestic business department to the Platform Marketing Business Headquarters, and explored bio products and new hydrogen & EV businesses on top of light oil product, the conventional mainstay product.

HD Hyundai Oilbank¡¯s CI Undergoes Renewal

HD Hyundai Oilbank¡¯s corporate identity has undergone renewal for the first time in 23 years. 

The refinery company displayed a new design in consideration of its new corporate identity at the GRC Gas Station in Bundang-gu, Seongnam City, Gyeonggi-do, it said on Sept. 12.
