Shinhan Card Releases ‘Shinhan Card Globus,’ Exempting Overseas Usage Fees

Card companies have been scrambling to come up with cards tailored to meet users’ demands coupled with overseas spending.

Shinhan Card Globus, targeting users’ overseas use, released by Shinhan Card, has undergone a renewal. “Global Plus,” Shinhan Play’s overseas travel one-stop service website, has also undergone an overhaul.

Shinhan Card Globus is a credit card which has lower fees when the user is traveling abroad. Globus Card holders can benefit from an exemption of a combined 1.18 percent of fees — 1 percentage point from international commission fees and 0.18 percentage points in overseas service commission fees.

On top of this, when more than 300,000 won is charged in the previous month, Shinhan Card Globus holders can benefit from points equivalent to 1.7 percent of their overseas charging amounts without a cap.

When more than 300,000 won is charged to the card in the previous month, Shinhan Card Globus holders are allowed to enter Incheon International Airport lounge for free twice yearly and qualify for free valet parking at Incheon International Airport three times monthly.

Shinhan Card Globus holders can benefit from the domestic use of the card – accumulating points equivalent to 0.7 percent of their charging amount at any time at any place sans a cap.

Shinhan Card Globus’ annual membership fee is 25,000 won for the Master Platinum version for overseas and domestic use. Shinhan Card has overhauled “Global Plus,” Shinhan Play’s overseas travel one-stop service website.

Global Plus has offered one-stop services by revising menus into ones, such as “Global Party Pack,” a collection of overseas use promotion and other events, “everything of traveling” for itinerary services, such as flight tickets, accommodation and duty-free outlet discounts.

Shinhan Card offers services, such as lounge, café and transportation discounts targeting overseas dual credit and check card individual customers.

Shinhan Card users who buy tickets at lounges of domestic airports with a Shinhan credit card will benefit from having his or her companion enter for free.

Shinhan card users will be given a 30 percent discount when they use the card at lounges of 1,200 airports across the world via the Lounge App with a Shinhan credit card.

Shinhan Card Releases ‘SPOTV Now’ Targeting Sports Enthusiasts

Shinhan Card said on Sept. 24 the credit card company released “Sports Now Shinhan Card Subscription” in cooperation with the sports OTT platform “SPOTV Now” to attract sports enthusiast clientele.

SPOTV Now is a sports OTT platform that televises live, not only Korean and foreign sports games, such as the Primer League, MLB and NBA, but also the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, which was opened on Sept. 24.

Sports Now Shinhan Card Subscription offers discounts on diverse life services, including 16 digital services.
