Hana Financial Group announced that it will launch the Hana Life Journey Support project to help people take better care of their children and create a childcare-friendly culture.
As part of the project, it will promote the Hana Daycare Center Program to address the nation¡¯s declining birthrate and spread a win-win financial culture.
To help people enjoy work and family balance, Hana Financial Group will invest a total of 30 billion won in the Hana Daycare Center Program over five years to select 50 weekend and holiday daycare centers and 24/365 daycare centers, which will provide high-quality childcare services and a stable childcare environment.
First, Hana Financial Group signed an agreement with the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare as part of a public-private partnership for the Hana Care Children¡¯s Home program, which offer services 365 days a year, to select 40 weekend and holiday-type daycare centers with support worth 20 billion won and expand the operation of weekend and holiday childcare teams. (09:00-18:00 on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays).
Minister of Health and Welfare Cho Kyoo-hong, Hana Financial Group Chairman Ham Young-joo and parents of children attended a ceremony held in honor of signing the agreement at the Hana Purni Banpo Children¡¯s Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul on Sept. 20.
They agreed on the purpose of the project to cope with the nation¡¯s severely low birthrate and support the stable growth of future generations.
To this end, Hana Financial Group and the Ministry of Health and Welfare will actively join forces to provide specialized care services for weekends and holidays and create a care-friendly culture by identifying the various childcare needs of parents.
¡°It is quite significant that we have created a safe and high-quality childcare environment through the Hana Daycare Center Program, starting with Hana Financial Group¡¯s 100 Childcare Welfare Centers Project which began in 2018,¡± said Chairman Ham.
¡°Hana Financial Group will take a new step to overcome the declining birthrate by working with the Ministry of Health and Welfare to promote work and family balance and make Korea a better place to raise children in.¡±
Hana Financial Group will also work with local governments to open 24/365 daycare centers in 10 locations with a total investment of 10 billion won.
Through the Hana Daycare Center Program, Hana Financial Group plans to provide parents who are police officers, firefighters, nurses, and self-employed people that require late-night and shift work an opportunity to receive support for infant care before or after regular childcare hours (07:30 to 19:30 on weekdays).
Hana Financial Group will receive applications to become 24/365 childcare centers from public childcare centers in desired areas and local governments will select those which meet conditions through a thorough screening process.
The selected public childcare centers will sign an operating agreement with Hana Financial Group and their local governments.
They will receive support from Hana Financial Group for five years to cover the costs of running specialized child care programs.
In April, Hana Financial Group announced the Hana Life Journey Support Project which covers the entire life cycle of adults including marriages, pregnancy and childbirth, childcare, and housing.
Hana Financial Group continues to provide comprehensive support to overcome the declining birthrate through the launch of Hana Child Raising Savings Account and the opening of the fourth Hana Mom Care Center, a convenient and attentive care space for parents and children.
In addition, the Hana Grand Hall Free Rental Project, which renovates six spaces owned by Hana Financial Group and its affiliates will provide the free use of wedding ceremony venues for would-be newlyweds including firefighters, small business owners, and multicultural and single-parent families.
Hana Financial Group is taking the lead in spreading a culture of win-win financing, including projects to build 100 daycare centers to address social issues and to alleviate regional disparities as well as supporting specialized medical examinations and fertility care for female employees and firefighters.
