CJ CheilJedang has joined forces with the Foundation of Agri. Tech. Commercialization Transfer (FACT) to build a collaboration platform for the development of the Korean agro-food industry.

The company held Korea Food Forum 2023 (KFF 2023) at CJ Manpower Center in Jung-gu, Seoul, in cooperation with FACT on July 4. 

The forum was held under the theme ¡°Global Growth Strategies of Korean Agro-food Startups.¡± 

KFF 2023 brought together officials from large-sized companies, agro-food startup investors and related organizations, including FACT President Ahn Ho-geun, President Park Min-sok of the Food Business at CJ CheilJedang, and Lee Sun-ho, head of the Food Growth Promotion Office at CJ CheilJedang. 

The event served as an opportunity for more than 100 startup participants to promote mutual exchanges.

KFF 2023 made its debut this year. The forum was designed to help diverse entities in the food industry recognize major trends in the industry and explore future growth engines. CJ CheilJedang plans to regularize the forum as an annual event. 

In his welcoming speech, CJ CheilJedang President Park said, ¡°I believe that not only hansik (Korean cuisine) but also Korean food tech have a potential to have a great impact on the global food industry, as CJ CheilJedang has confirmed in its track record, and today¡¯s relationship will be a strong support for you toward the same goal.¡±

The forum was divided into two sessions on companies¡¯ foreign market entry and marketing strategies, as well as environment changes of the food industry and corporate growth strategies. 

Panel discussions covered topics such as promoting food startups¡¯ global market entry and the globalization of Korean cuisine. 

They offered participants diverse insights. Participants paid attention to the introduction establishing Bibigo as a globally-recognized brand and its success story of global market entries.

Lecturers included Lee Seok-hyung, a partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) , Park Young-geol, executive vice president of KPMG Simjong Accounting Corp. 

Panelists included Kim Sook-jin, in charge of Bibigo at CJ CheilJedang, Unlimeat President Min Keum-chae, Food Culture Lab President Ahn Tae-yang, Kwon Jung-woong in charge of open market mart 11Street, Park Pil-jae, head of the Startup Overseas Market Entry Office at Korea International Trade Association and Eom In-yong, head of the Venture Business Team at FACT participated in the forum. President Baek Jong-won of The Born Korea also appeared as a special panelist. 

KFF 2023 has been evaluated to serve as a field guidance for the agro-food industry, which is changing fast. 

A participant said that for a new startup, it served as a reliable partner, and the forum was a meaningful opportunity to see the big picture of global market entry beyond Korea. 

A CJ CheilJedang official said, ¡°CJ CheilJedang has made strenuous efforts to purse innovation of the food industry and globalize K-food in accordance with Chairman Lee Jay-hyun¡¯s management tenet of creating future foods and making people around the world enjoying Korean cuisine more than once or twice weekly.¡± 

The insights next-generation innovation startups and industry officials had shared are expected to serve as a pump-priming for raising the future competitiveness of the agro-food industry, the official added.

CJ CheilJedang Releases Three Renewal Versions of Bibigo ¡®Sogogi Deumbuk Gukmul Food¡¯

CJ CheilJedang said on July 4 the company launched renewal versions of three Bibigo ¡°sogogi (Beef) deumbuk gukmul (soup) foods.

The renewal versions involve ¡°premium sogogi dempbuk yukgaejang (hot spicy meat stew),¡± ¡°premium sogogi dempbuk miyeokguk¡± (seaweed soup) and ¡°premium sogogi dempbuk seolleongttang¡± (bone soup and meat stew). 

The latest food products have upgraded yukgaejang, miyeokguk and seolleongttang, the three steady-sellers of the Bibigo¡¯s soup category.
