Samsung C&T Construction Group is stepping on the gas to expand the green hydrogen business, emerging as one of the core future energy businesses, in the Australian market.
Samsung C&T struck an MOU with Diamond Generating Asia (DGA), a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corp. and a global energy company, on the joint development of green hydrogen/ammonia projects and their operation on May 17.
Under the deal, both companies plan to implement projects to build renewable energy power plants, such as photovoltaic power and wind power, in Western Australia and set up related green hydrogen production facilities.
Both sides will continue global collaboration by converting green hydrogen produced in Western Australia, into ammonia, to be supplied to markets, such as Korea and Japan.
Samsung C&T, expanding the eco-friendly green hydrogen business, aims to establish a leadership position in the Australian green hydrogen market by building a foothold to participate in all stages of the value chain, ranging from development to construction-production-supply.
Australia has rich renewable energy resources and an expansive territory, is considered as an optimal environment to implement large-sized green hydrogen/ammonia projects.

Samsung C&T Strikes Strategic Partnership Deal on Smart Health Care
Samsung C&T Construction Group inked an MOU to build a strategic partnership with Dr. Diary, MDsquare and Huraypositive at Raemian Gallery in Munjeong-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, on May 12.
Under the deal, online health care services will be offered to apartment complexes on top of infrastructure services, such as the fitness centers contractors have so far provided.
Attendees of a ceremony to sign the MOU included Dr. Diary President Song Jae-yoon, MD Square President Oh Soo-hwan, Huraypositive President Choi Doo-ah, Samsung C&T Senior Executive Vice President Kim Myung-suk, head of the Housing Division, and Samsung C&T Vice President Cho Hae-jung, chief of the Life Solution Division.
Dr. Diary, MD Square and Huraypostive are three smart health startups specializing in app-based workout and dietary habit coaching services to prevent chronic diseases, such as diabetes, overweight and hypertension.
Under the deal, the four companies will conduct joint marketing activities on health management of Raemian apartment occupants and develop diverse health care services.
Samsung C&T plans to launch smart health care services to Raemian One Bailey in Banpo-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Samsung C&T Vice President Cho said, ¡°Online-based smart health care services will offer health lifestyle to Raemian customers and Samsung C&T will proactively purse shared growth with startups with specialized solutions.¡±
Samsung C&T will expand diverse health services and customers¡¯ experiences, such as ¡°senior living project¡± applications in the future, Cho said.

Samsung C&T workers used the right of suspension of work on a combined 53,000 occasions at 113 worksites for the past two years since it made its debut in March 2021, showing the establishment of a workers-oriented safety culture.
