Woori Bank announced on June 2 that it signed a big data cooperation agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to analyze and solve youth issues.
The Seoul Youth Financial Data Development Project promoted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government is a research and analysis project that utilizes data held by the Seoul Welfare Foundation and four private companies to verify the effectiveness of current youth financial support policy projects — asset-building support projects, financial education and others — and establish sophisticated support criteria in the future.
Woori Bank will participate in advancing youth financial policies by providing data needed to analyze financial assets of those who bought Seoul's youth financial support products, such as Doubled Hope Youth Bankbook.
To this end, Woori Bank has held several working-level meetings with the Seoul Metropolitan Government since March to collaborate on data. Woori Bank then analyzed and processed data to provide practical help to improve policies.
“This data collaboration will serve as an exemplary big data collaboration model between public and private institutions,” a Woori Bank official said. “We will continue to create social value through various data collaborations with the government.”
Woori Bank is actively participating not only in the Seoul data analysis project, but in the Financial Services Commission’s D-Test Bed Project to support fintech startups, taking the lead in revving up data transactions and creating a data ecosystem.
Woori Bank President Participates in Cool Korea Challenge
Woori Bank announced on June 9 that Woori Bank President Lee Won-duk participated in the Cool Korea Challenge at Woori Bank’s headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul.
The Cool Korea Challenge is a relay event in which leaders from all walks of life call for participation as part of the National Campaign for Saving Energy organized by fashion group Hyungji and the Korea Energy Agency.
The challenge is conducted by posing for photos while wearing cool summer clothes, posting them on websites or social media service channels, and selecting at least three people to participate in the next relay.
Woori Bank President Lee was chosen by Choi Byung-oh, chairman of Fashion Group Hyungji. Thus, Lee participated in the challenge, posing for photos with employees wearing cool summer clothes and pledging to save energy and posting them on Woori Bank’s official SNS channels.
“I hope that through this challenge, an eco-friendly culture will be established where employees can work comfortably in cool summer clothes and save energy by using cooling equipment less,” Lee said.
“Woori Bank employees will also actively participate in the Cool Korea Challenge so that it can spread nationwide.”
Woori Bank has been taking the lead in transforming its sales culture and saving energy by proactively introducing autonomous dress codes since June 20.
In March, the bank participated in the 2023 Earth Hour campaign, in which all lights in the buildings of Woori Financial Group’s major business sites were turned off for one hour to show the bank’s will to save electric power.
Joint Marketing Agreement with Law Firm
Woori Bank announced on May 31 that it signed a joint marketing agreement with Hwawoo, a law firm based in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on May 30.
Song Hyun-joo, head of Woori Bank’s Wealth Management Group, and Lee Myung-soo, head of Hwawoo Law Firm, attended the signing ceremony.
The two companies agreed to actively cooperate in providing legal advisory services for customers of Woori Bank's inheritance and gift trust products and in marketing the products.
In particular, the two firms will hold seminars based on their accumulated experience and provide useful information on how to use trusts and legal considerations in asset succession and provide one-on-one customized consulting.
“As interest in wealth planning for generations is growing, we entered into this agreement to provide appropriate inheritance and gift-related trust products and legal advisory services tailored to the needs of our customers,” a Woori Bank official said.
“We will continue to provide differentiated financial services through the Woori Naeri Sarang Trust Service that includes family asset succession trust products and services.”
