Shinhan Bank announced on June 14 that the Shinhan COVID-19 Small Business Support Loan was selected as an outstanding example of new financial products for win-win and cooperative finance by the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS).
Shinhan COVID-19 Small Business Support Loan reduced the financial burden on small business owners by directly supporting borrowers whose interest rates are bound to rise due to the end of the second financial support period for special COVID-19 loans for small business owners in 2020.
The exemption is interest rates of 1.35 percentage points to 2.0 percentage points.
Under the program, Shinhan Bank is supporting small business owners with interest rate cuts and maturity extensions for loans totaling 621.7 billion won.
The total amount of Shinhan Bank¡¯s interest cost support provided to customers is expected to reach 11.1 billion won in total.
Shinhan Bank has also fully normalized the maturity extension process for its maturing COVID-19 loans so small business owners can continue to use the loans easily and conveniently by visiting Shinhan Bank branches while maintaining interest support benefits.
In March, Shinhan Bank established the Win-Win Financial Planning Office to manage win-win financing and announced a ¡°win-win financial support plan¡± to provide 162.3 billion won in financial support for small business owners.
¡°We are pleased to receive this prize in recognition of our efforts to support win-win financing to help vulnerable borrowers amid growing burdens on people in tough financial situations,¡± a Shinhan Bank official said.
Blood Donation on World Blood Donation Day
Shinhan Bank announced on June 13 that it held the 2023 Love Blood Donation Campaign with the participation of all employees to contribute to solving a blood shortage in honor of World Blood Donor Day (June 14).
The campaign was conducted by donating blood at Shinhan Bank branches nationwide from June 1 to 12.
In particular, on June 12, a blood donation vehicle was placed in front of the head office for Shinhan Bank so employees can donate blood in the vehicle.
Shinhan Bank¡¯s Love Blood Donation Campaign has been held every year for 23 years since 2001 with the active participation of employees.
Including this year, the number of employees who participated in the campaign totaled more than 23,000.

Events for Shinamon Season 3
Shinhan Bank announced on June 8 that it will open Season 3 of its metaverse platform Shinamon with a commemorative event.
Shinamon is Shinhan Bank¡¯s first self-built metaverse platform in the financial sector, providing customers with new exciting experiences and intuitive services in a virtual space created by connecting financial and non-financial areas.
Season 3 of Shinamon reinforced its financial connectivity services by changing benefits offered through gift icons to My Shinhan Points and providing additional benefits to Shinhan Bank customers.
Based on customer feedback collected during the two seasons, Shinhan Bank introduced customization through character costume items and improved the platform environment and operation.
In the future, Shinhan Bank will combine Shinamon with blockchain-based platforms by connecting NFT wallets.
