Korean Standards Association (KSA) signed an MOU on startup open innovation with Seoul Business Agency (SBA) and the Federation of Middle Market Enterprises of Korea (FOMEK) at Seoul Startup M+ Conference Hall on May 10. 

The deal was designed to facilitate open innovation among large- and mid-sized companies and startups by establishing a close cooperation regime among the institutions. 

It also explores technologies large- and mid-size companies need and matching them with outstanding startups with related technologies. 

The takeaways of the agreement include exploring and recruiting Korean promising startups, connecting promising startups with large- and mid-size companies for exploring the latter¡¯s new growth engines, promoting joint cooperation programs to follow up support for the growth of promising startups and promoting work and business cooperation for mutual development. 

To this end, the three institutions were to jointly hold ¡°I¡¯M Challenging,¡± an open innovation event, on May 24. 

The organizations conducted a public contest staring 11 large-and mid-size companies in the bio health, mobility and eco-friendly/energy sectors. 

They were scheduled to hold a joint event to match the companies with startups with solution technologies. 

KSA Chairman Kang Myung-soo said, ¡°KSA will not spare efforts to offer follow-up support to facilitate active open innovation among outstanding startups in unmatched area, being nurtured by KSA Accelerator Business Group, and large- and mid-sized companies.¡± 





Korean Standards Association said on June 2 KSA will operate an AI manpower development course using AI For Future Workforce in the Seoul and Busan areas, at GoNuai¡¯s Busan branch and Korea Economic Daily headquarters.


KSA Opens AI Manpower Development Course Using AI For Future Workforce

Korean Standards Association will operate an AI manpower development course using AI For Future Workforce, targeting digital core manpower development in the Seoul and Busan areas, at GoNuai¡¯s Busan branch and Korea Economic Daily headquarters, KSA said on June 2. 

The course was selected in a public contest on the K-digital training course for the first half of 2023 by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Korean Skills Quality Authority (KSQA). 

It consists of 930 hours of systematic learning, such as data analysis, AI/machine learning, python and app development to nurture software manpower. 

Lecturers, certified by Intel Korea, will give off-the-line lectures and Intel AI development tools, created for AI on-the-job training. 

Those who finish the course will be given a certificate of completion in the name of Intel Korea and KSA. 

For the course for the year 2023, 30 trainees will be recruited each from Seoul and Busan. 

Applications will be accepted at Intel Korea¡¯s Digital Leading Company Academy until June 25 for the Seoul area and until July 2 for the Seoul area. 

KSA Chairman Kang said, ¡°KSA will aggressively operate and support the AI For Future Workforce Course, contributing to nurturing software manpower development in the Seoul and Busan areas, and we¡¯ll play a pivotal role of exploring companies wanting software manpower and connecting them with trainees so that the latter can demonstrate their capabilities, not ending up with completion of the course.¡±
