Finalizes social contribution projects the corporation will implement this year, calling for more energy efficiency, among others, to spearhead energy efficiency innovation

Korea District Heating Corp. (KDHC) has finalized social contribution projects the corporation will implement this year, calling for stepping up energy efficiency to spearhead energy efficiency innovation and set them in motion in a full-fledged fashion, the corporation said on May 22. 

KDHC has fulfilled its social responsibilities as a public entity by conducting diverse social contribution activities under the catchphrase ¡°Warming the World with a Clean Energy.¡±

For this year, KDHC plans to strengthen its standing as the nation¡¯s largest community energy business entity by restructuring social contribution activities into ones prioritizing diverse projects, such as energy efficiency innovation and supporting heating costs for those in the marginalized brackets, emerging as pending national tasks. 

First, KDHC plans to inaugurate ¡°Energy Efficiency Plus,¡± a project designed to realize energy welfare. 

The project calls for KDHC to provide support for the installation of energy facilities and supplying high-efficiency heating apparatuses after conducing energy diagnosis consulting for social welfare centers. 

KDHC continues to implement ¡°Heating Costs of Love,¡± the corporation¡¯s representative social contribution project, designed to pay for winter heating costs for people in energy marginalized brackets and welfare centers. 

The corporation plans to step up the existing energy efficiency, eco-friendly theme projects, such as a housing environment improvement project designed to protect marginalized people from damage caused by summer heat waves.

KDHC plans to fulfill its roles as a ¡°warm-hearted, clean energy partner¡± by shifting the direction of ¡°Hero Race,¡± a public marathon completion, ¡°Dream Again Project,¡± a women¡¯s startup support project, into energy theme-based ones. 

KDHC President Jung Yong-ki said, ¡°KDHC has established social contribution project plans for this year the way in which regional society and energy marginalized brackets, grappling with difficulties, caused by a national energy crisis, can receive substantial benefits, and the corporation will proactively contributing to spreading regional shared growth and sharing culture by systematically implementing diverse social contribution projects to realize social contribution¡¯s three core values: eco-friendliness, hope and sharing energy.¡±

KDHC Tops Safety Management Classification of Public Entities for 3rd Consecutive Year

Korea District Heating Corp. (KDHC) achieved the Safety Cap4, the overall second grade.
 
In the safety management classification of public entities for the year 2022, evaluating each public entity¡¯s comprehensive safety management regime. 

The safety management classification reviewed 100 public organizations, and KDHC made a feat of achieving the second grade, the best one, for the third consecutive year. 

KDHC has been recognized for making proper efforts and taking countermeasures in diverse areas by establishing outstanding safety and health management regimes. 

The corporation was given outstanding evaluations in the ¡°Safety Point¡± system designed to gather field crew¡¯s views on prevention of accidents, the operation of safety communities and prior danger evaluation standards regime designed to explore harmful and danger factors. 

KDHC received a positive evaluation for taking preemptive steps, based on the establishment of a heat transportation pipe technology deliberation committee designed to effectively repair and improve heat transportation pipelines, the corporation¡¯s core facilities.
