Signs a business agreement to promote the Incheon tourism industry with the Small Enterprise and Market Service

Incheon Metropolitan City and Incheon Tourism Organization (ITO) announced that Incheon K-POP (INK) Concert has been selected for the Korea Tourism Organization¡¯s 2023 K-POP Concert Support Project.

The Korea Tourism Organization¡¯s K-POP Concert Support Project supports tourism products and offers financial support for tourism promotion and marketing related to K-POP concerts held nationwide in order to attract more foreign tourists and commercialize tourism.

This year, 12 local governments participated in the project to receive support and four were selected, including Incheon, through a screening process. 

INK Concert has been selected as a government-funded project for the sixth consecutive year since 2017. Therefore, it will receive 200 million won in government support in 2023.

The INK Concert began in 2009 and marks its 14th year in 2023. It was also selected as one of the Top 100 K-Culture Tourism Events.
 
Thus, the ITO will actively promote it to attract overseas tourists by strengthening domestic and international public relations and marketing activities, and developing concert-related tourism products.

¡°The INK Concert earned the honor of being selected to receive support from the Korea Tourism Organization¡¯s 2023 K-POP Concert Support Project as the judges highly evaluated the ITO¡¯s plan to attract tourists and our overseas marketing strategies based on know-how accumulated over the years,¡± Min Joon-hong, a team manager of the ITO. ¡°We will do our best to make sure that audiences will be able to enjoy the concert by doing everything we can do for safety.¡±

This year¡¯s INK Concert is scheduled to kick off at Incheon¡¯s Munhak Stadium with popular Korean idol groups on September 9.

Revving Up Incheon Tourism by Supporting Small Businesses and Traditional Markets

On March 15, the ITO announced that it signed a business agreement to promote the Incheon tourism industry with the Incheon and Gyeonggi Northern Regional Headquarters of the Small Enterprise and Market Service at the Incheon Tourism Business Support Center.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will cooperate in various fields such as joint marketing and promotions with small businesses and traditional markets for domestic and foreign tourists, joint support for the growth of tourism companies in Incheon and business development, the creation of jobs in Incheon tourism, and the development of local tourism human resources, joint social contribution activities in the region. 

With the agreement as an opportunity, the ITO and the Small Enterprise and Market Service will work together to reduce the management burden of small business owners and traditional market merchants in Incheon and increase sales of small businesses and traditional markets through joint marketing and promotion for domestic and foreign tourists.

¡°Small businesses and traditional markets can be called two of the main pillars for the Incheon tourism industry,¡± said Baig Hyeon, president of the ITO. ¡°The two organizations will work together to promote Incheon¡¯s tourism industry and contribute creating decent jobs in Incheon and revving up Incheon¡¯s local economy.¡±


MOU on Promoting Tourism between ITO and MTA

The ITO and the Mongolian Tourism Association (MTA) announced that they signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the promotion of attracting foreign tourists and the development of both countries¡¯ tourism industries in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on March 13.

Under the MOU, the two sides agreed on promoting joint marketing to promote island tourism in Ongjin-gun, Incheon of Korea. 

The agreement ceremony was held in attendance of officials from both sides. They made a resolution to jointly revitalize their tourism industries.
