NongHyup Bank announced on March 6 that it will open a data hub and BI portal as the result of developing a ¡°next-generation information system¡± to increase its data competitiveness.
NongHyup Bank¡¯s next-generation information system is a project to implement a decision-making scheme based on data.
It is designed to successfully carry out a digital transformation by introducing core infrastructure such as a data hub, which standardizes and integrates historical data, a business intelligence (BI) portal.
That sets up a data utilization and quality management environment and marketing hub, which is the basis for providing differentiated and personalized services to customers.
The data hub is a system that integrates and systematically provides data distributed by NongHyup Bank¡¯s channels and tasks, dramatically improving employees¡¯ convenience at their workplaces.
The BI portal is an information analysis system that makes data easy to find and convenient to use, supporting data-based decision-making in customer-centered businesses.
¡°With the opening of the private cloud-based data hub and BI portals, we expect to be able to flexibly respond to rapidly increasing data and service processing,¡± a NongHyup Bank official said.
Green Premium Purchase Agreement with KEPCO
NongHyup Bank signed a green premium purchase agreement with KEPCO for the third consecutive year to join the Korean RE100 (K-RE100) and expand the spread of renewable energy in Korea.
K-RE100 is a system implemented in 2021 to promote companies¡¯ voluntary use of renewable energy and contribute to the expansion of domestic renewable energy, and Green Premium is one of the measures to implement the K-RE100.
In line with the 2040 NH-RE100 Roadmap to convert 100 percent of its electricity to renewable energy by 2040, NongHyup Bank will cover 15 percent of the previous year¡¯s electricity consumption with renewable energy this year.
In addition, NongHyup Bank has employed various strategies to expand people¡¯s awareness of ESG including the sale of ESG-specialized financial products, preferential interest rates for companies with excellent ESG activities, offering ESG consulting, using electric vehicles and holding ESG campaigns with the participation with employees.
Giving Scholarships to Jeonnam Future Education Foundation
The Jeonnam Future Education Foundation announced on March 8 that it received Jeonnam Education Love and Regional Sangsang Card scholarships of 1.25 billion won from NongHyup Bank Jeonnam Headquarters.
The scholarship delivery ceremony was held at the Jeonnam Office of Education with the presence of Kim Dae-jung, chairman of the Jeonnam Future Education Foundation, Park Jong-tak, head of the Jeonnam Headquarters of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, and Jeong Jae-heon, head of NongHyup Bank Jeonnam Headquarters.
The scholarship fund totaled 1,254 million won — 750 million won from the Jeonnam Education Love Card Partnership Fund and 499 million won from the Jeonnam Education Win-Win Card Partnership Fund.
The Jeonnam Office of Education will give the scholarships to students at elementary, middle, and high schools in Jeonnam Province who are in need of help, talented students or those who showed academic excellence or good deeds.
The Jeonnam Education Love Card was established in 2005 as a credit care based on a partnership between the Jeonnam Office of Education and NongHyup Bank.
A certain amount of the credit card¡¯s usage income by teachers and other school employees goes to the scholarship fund.
The Jeonnam Education Win-Win Card is a corporate card designed to be used only in Jeonnam Province in 2021 to help local small business owners.
This credit card uses the same system in raising funds for the scholarships as the Jeonnam Education Love Card.
