KB Kookmin Bank won the Financial Supervisory Service¡¯s Prize for Outstanding Financial Company at the 2022 Student Financial Education Awards organized by the Financial Supervisory Service in the middle of March.

Run by the Financial Supervisory Service, the Student Financial Education is a program in which financial companies across the country partner with elementary, middle, and high schools.

The program has been running since 2015 and provides various practical financial education classes to students, including experience-based education, lectures at schools and support for clubs.

Last year, KB Kookmin Bank provided financial education to more than 20,000 teenagers on 472 occasions, especially for senior high school students who will graduate soon. During the COVID-19 crisis, the bank also made efforts to create video content and lay the foundation for online financial education with the KB Foundation.

¡°This year, we plan to give financial education to 795 partner schools nationwide, and expand face-to-face activities such as invitation-based education using the Economic Education Experience Center in cooperation with the KB Foundation and the training of economic and financial instructors,¡± a KB Kookmin Bank official said.

¡°We will strive to ensure that the education is in line with purposes and directions set by the Financial Supervisory Service.¡±

Meanwhile, KB Kookmin Bank signed a business agreement with Sungshin Women¡¯s University to provide a metaverse-based mobile student ID Liiv Campus. Sungshin Women¡¯s University Liiv Campus is a 3D metaverse-based mobile student ID card that realizes an actual campus in a 3D metaverse space.

Students can walk around the virtual campus with their own avatars and communicate with each other in the metaverse space.

They can use their mobile student ID cards that can be used in the real world, not only in the metaverse world and access various campus services such as campus communities and the academic calendar among others.

¡°We wish to make students¡¯ school life more convenient and enjoyable through Liiv Campus,¡± said Lee Sung-keun, president of Sungshin Women¡¯s University.

¡°We are pleased to announce the launch of Liiv Campus at Sungshin Women¡¯s University,¡± said Kim Dong-rok, deputy head of KB Kookmin Bank¡¯s Institutional Customer Group. We will continue to make effort to gain trust students and faculty members through perfect and delicate services.¡±

In the meantime, KB Kookmin Bank held the 15th class of KB Good Job Vocational School, an employment training program with the Ministry of Education and KB Foundation.

Now in its eighth year, the KB Job Training School is an employment training program that has been held 14 times with about 1,500 vocational high school students participating.

Through the assignment of dedicated consultants, the program provides a one-stop employment education program specialized for vocational high school students, from career setting to job matching. The program has received very positive responses from students and teachers.

This time, 120 participants in the 15th class received employment education such as job preparation guides, the management of communication skills and self-introduction consulting through an online job camp for two days from March 14 to 15. Even after the job camp, they will enjoy various benefits such as six months of customized consulting through the assignment of a dedicated consultant, regular career counseling and matching with excellent companies.

¡°I did not know what to do to get a job in the IT sector because none of my classmates wanted to work in the IT sector like me, but I met with a KB Job Training School consultant and succeeded in getting a job at a bank in January of 2023,¡± said a student who participated in the program as a student of the 14th class.

¡°The Job Training School Program helped me to prepare for employment step by step as I was preparing to get a good job right after graduating from high school.¡±

¡°The KB Good Job Training School is a program that helps students develop their careers faster and provides them with a direction for employment success,¡± a KB official said. ¡°We will continue to strive to help students take their first step in society as adults.¡±
