Hana Financial Group announced on Feb. 28 that it made and delivered boxes containing emergency relief supplies through its employees¡¯ volunteer efforts to support people in earthquake-stricken areas in Turkey.

The volunteer program was organized through its employees¡¯ voluntary participation to help restore damage and support victims in Turkey, a nation with strong ties to South Korea.

Turkey even sent troops to South Korea to help during the Korean War, when South Korea was in a dire need of military support from other countries.

Following Hana Financial Group's donation of a total of $300,000 for emergency relief on Feb. 9, the group's employees participated in a volunteer service to reach out to those in need in Turkey.

They filled boxes with relief supplies, wishing for the speedy recovery of the country from the horrible disaster.

More than 100 Hana Financial Group employees and their family members, including Hana Bank President Lee Seung-yeol, participated in the volunteer service at Hana Financial Group¡¯s Myeongdong office on Feb. 25.

The activity was joined by retired Korean golf star Pak Se-ri, whom Hana Financial Group sponsored when she was an active professional golfer.

The boxes contained relief items and were divided into adults¡¯ and children's boxes.

They were filled with necessities requested by the Turkish Embassy in Seoul. The adults¡¯ boxes included blankets, gloves, scarves, and hot packs to help them survive the cold, while the children¡¯s boxes had a total of 10 items including diapers for infants and toddlers.

The boxes will be delivered to local communities through an official logistics channel of the embassy.

¡°I hope that the hearts of Hana Financial Group employees¡¯ warm hearts will give courage and hopes to the victims of the earthquakes who have lost their homes and are shivering in the cold,¡± said Lee Seung-yeol, president of Hana Bank.

¡°As a member of the global community, Hana Financial Group employees are praying for the victims and will continue to provide support to those in need.¡±

¡°It was even more meaningful for me to take part in this activity together with Hana Financial Group employees,¡± said Park Se-ri, who participated in the volunteer service activity, recalling a special relationship which she had enjoyed with Hana Financial Group since 2015.

¡°I hope that the people of Turkey will return to their peaceful and normal lives as soon as possible.¡±

In the meantime, Hana Financial Group announced on Feb. 23 that it will launch the ¡°Everybody¡¯s Football Field, Everybody¡¯s K League¡± Season 3 Campaign with the Korea Professional Football League and the Community Chest of Korea to improve the human rights of people with disabilities and create a K League football culture that everyone can enjoy.

The ¡°Everybody¡¯s Football Field, Everybody's K League¡± Season 3 Campaign which will be held for the third time following Seasons 1 and 2, was first launched in 2020 with the Korean Professional Football League for the purpose of social contribution by improving access to K League stadiums for those with disabilities.

Over the past two years, various activities have been carried out, including creating a map of K League stadiums for those with disabilities, creating an environment where everyone can watch exciting football games regardless of their physical problems.

The Season 3 Campaign will support sports activities for the developmentally disabled and marginalized through the theme of football and will be conducted with a concept that everyone experiences sports activities going beyond simply watching football games.

The main contents of the campaign include forming soccer teams with K League clubs and people with developmental disabilities, holding the Hana Power ON K League Unified Cup which is enjoyed by both people with and people without disabilities, fostering social values through various experiential activities and creating promotional content with famous football influencers.

¡°Hana Financial Group is striving to create and spread social value through soccer through various ESG projects with professional soccer clubs,¡± said an official of the Hana Financial Sports Team.

¡°We will continue to strive to have positive impacts various areas of society in the future.¡±
