IBK Teams Up with SNU Bundang Hospital to Back Growth of Bio Health Firms
Both sides agree to provide commercialization of projects and exchange of information through corporate explanation sessions and clinical mentoring

The Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK) inked an MOU with Seoul National University Bundang Hospital to support the growth of bio health companies, IBK said on March 9. 

The event was designed to help startups that lead innovation of the bio health market under IBK Changgong¡¯s program for the creation of new markets by securing future competitiveness and export opportunities. 

Both sides agreed to explore and support bio health companies with outstanding ideas and technologies. 

To this end, the two institutions will host programs related to startup, exchange technology and market information; pursue expertise manpower; host information exchanges for R&D; and execute online and off-line publication of nurturing startups. 

Under the deal, IBK will offer accelerating knowhow, management strategies, tax and accounting consultations, while SNU Bundang Hospital will support clinical consulting and screening for IBK Changgong¡¯s bio health companies. 

Among about 100 people on hand at the event were representatives from IBK Changgong¡¯s 35 companies, SNU Bundang Hospital K-Bio Health Regional Center companies and startups, 19 clinicians and six consultants. 

The event coincided with a session of explaining IBK Changgong¡¯s companies, offering consulting and mentoring. 

During a mentoring session with clinicians with SNU Bundang Hospital, 25 companies, including robot, antibiotics, bio material companies as well as related clinicians, such as anesthesiology and ophthalmology shared information and expertise. About 10 companies collaborated with nurses¡¯ headquarters, and infection management teams. 

An IBK official said, ¡°Under the agreement, IBK Changgong startups¡¯ creative ideas and technologies will serve as opportunities to contribute the development of the medical industry.¡± 

The agreement is expected to expand the bio health market by commercializing bio health technologies and achieve efficient service innovation, the official said. 

Lee Hak-jong, president of SNU Bundang Hospital Biomedical Life Research Institute, said, ¡°We¡¯ll offer full support to expedite the commercialization of bio health companies and ramp up competitiveness through a strong collaboration regime with IBK, and it is expected to boost the growth of the bio medical industry a stage up.¡±

IBK Strikes MOU with KTO on Welfare of SME Workers 

The Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK) inked an MOU with Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) on backing the welfare of SME workers and creating jobs in the tourism industry at IBK headquarters on March 9.

Under the agreement, both institutions are expected to operate projects to support SME workers¡¯ holiday and workcation businesses, back matching of jobs for SME job seekers and explore and support outstanding employment companies. 

IBK will offer 100,000 won to each of 1,000 people under a project to support holiday costs for startups and SMEs with fewer than 30 employees in cooperation with KTO while offering non-financial services, such as a ¡°workation¡± project designed to balance work and vacation.


IBK Inks MOU on Invigorating IP Financing with KODIT

The Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK) struck an MOP to invigorate intellectual property financing with Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KODIT), IBK said on March 2. Under the deal, both sides are expected to support swift funding to invigorate IP financing and reduce IP companies¡¯ financial costs.
