Announces business plans for year 2023, including expanding sports class voucher amount and period

Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (KSPO), celebrating the 34th anniversary this year, released the New Year¡¯s business plan on Jan. 3, calling for the continued pursuit of organization efficiency and business innovation, and making KSPO a public institution loved by the people by offering quality sports welfare services among others. 

Looking at sports welfare services, worked out by the corporation for this year, KSPO plans to expand sports class voucher price from 85,000 won to 95,000 won and its period from 10 months to 12 months. 

KSPO plans to expand sports facilities in which the handicapped persons can use sports class vouchers to Bandai sports centers and online member outlets. 

The corporation plans to raise access to the national fitness certification ¡°National Physical Fitness 100¡± in cooperation with the private sector. 

To this end, KSPO will develop new digital-based physical fitness testing models and expand the number of sports outlets in which people can utilize the ¡°Health Up Program,¡± a convenience version of the national physical fitness certification from 10 to 100. 

The corporation will inaugurate ¡°Sports Mileage Service¡± in which people can promote health and receive incentives as well.

KSPO will ramp up support to invigorate the sports industry, which is facing with a crisis. 

The corporation seeks a revision of related acts to expand the beneficiaries of sports industry loans to the whole of sports equipment and service industries and ease their qualification.
 
KSPO plans to offer 232.1 billion won in financial support by introducing an interest preservation system. 

KSPO will accelerate innovation of projects to raise funds to secure sports financing. The corporation raised a maximum of about 2.2 trillion won in funds last year. 

KSPO plans to raise 1.83 trillion won in a sports promotion funds by achieving the sales goal of logging 5,938.5 billion won in the Sports Toto business project this year. 

To this end, the corporation plans to introduce new products and strengthen the surveillance of unsound practices by outlets and illegal sports gambling. 

The corporation plans to ramp up data marketing activities in accordance with introducing an online ticketing system in cycle racing and motorboat racing projects and develop winning prizes with missing refund being carried forward. 

KSPO plans to upgrade infrastructure facilities designed to commemorate the hosting of the 1988 Seoul Olympics and expand their global presence. 

KSPO is seeking to implement a sports official development assistance (ODA), utilizing its representative brand ¡°National Fitness Certification¡± project. 

The corporation plans to open the Seoul Olympics Legacy Week in conjunction of a ceremony to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the 1988 Seoul Olympics, a related forum and side events. 

KSPO Jinju Sports Center will be opened in September as the world¡¯s first sports facility in which youth can experience sports values. 

KSPO CEO Cho Hyun-jae said, ¡°In celebration of the 34th anniversary of founding, KSPO executives and staffers will internalize three 3Cs innovation mindsets - change, challenge and customer like an attitude of a youth aged 34 while concentrating on raising the quality of public services in an effective and efficient fashion to be the world¡¯s top-tier sports promotion institute.¡± 


KSPO Teams Up with KITA to Host SPOEX 

Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (KSPO) and Korea International Trade Association (KITA) jointly held the 2023 Seoul International Sports Leisure Industry Show (SPOEX 2023) at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul, on Feb. 16.

SPOEX 2023, Korea¡¯s largest sports exhibition, is one of Asia¡¯s three representative sports shows, along with China Sport Show and TaiSPO of Taiwan. 

The latest exhibition attracted 252 companies, which set up 1,329 booths. The number of exhibitors surged 32 percent compared to the previous year.
