KEPCO NF was presented with the $100 Million Export Tower Award at a ceremony to celebrate the 59th anniversary of Trade Day at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on December 5.
The Trade Day anniversary event was organized by the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) and hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE).
Companies which have contributed to exploring foreign markets and boosted exports are selected at each year¡¯s Trade Day anniversary event, where their CEOs, executives and staffers are awarded with prizes in accordance with their contributions.
KEPCO NF is the only nuclear fuel company in South Korea specializing in designing and manufacturing nuclear fuel.
As Korea landed an order to build the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the United Arab Emirates in 2009, KEPCO NF has exported nuclear fuel since 2017.

KEPCO NF Declares Safety Management, Vows to Put into Practice Disaster Prevention
KEPCO NF held a ceremony and seminar to declare safety management and ramp up core worker capabilities to execute safety management at Daejeon Convention Center on December 27 and 28. The event was also designed to help prevent serious industrial disasters.
In order to execute prevention- and field-oriented safety management at the declaration ceremony, KEPCO NF declared its determination to execute detailed safety management, such as preventive health check targeting staffers, improving safety surveillance and crisis response capabilities by stepping up disaster safety systems, building safe worksites, establishing a safety win-win cooperation regime targeting its cooperative companies, and designating the establishment of experience-based safety education center as one of its strategic tasks.
KEPCO NF has been devoting itself to ensuring safety management by reorganizing safety departments in accordance with the enforcement of the Act on the Punishment of Serious Industrial Disasters and designated the year 2022 as a year of designating the prevention of serious industrial disasters as a top priority task.
Following the declaration ceremony, KEPCO NF held a seminar to ramp up safety management core manpower¡¯s capabilities and had discussions on themes, such as accident examples and steps to prevent recurrence of accidents.
KEPCO NF has been expanding education, targeting safety management core manpower to improve safety management supervisors¡¯ job performance and devoting itself to systemizing and upgrading safety management responsibilities by introducing safety management supervisors¡¯ evaluation system.
KEPCO NF President Choi Ik-soo said, ¡°All workers¡¯ efforts should be made to ensure the safety of worksites, and management will make safety a top priority management task to build safe worksites so that workers can work without anxiety.¡±
KEPCO NF Kicks Off New Business Year by Paying Respects at Daejeon National Cemetery
KEPCO NF held a New Year¡¯s ceremony at KEPCO NF headquarters on Jan. 2 and vowed to make a fresh start.
In his new year¡¯s message, KEPCO NF President Choi Ik-soo said he would prioritize core tasks, such as stepping up safety management, developing technologies for the future, securing future growth foundation, implementing management reform in a way people can sense change and building ESG-based sustainable management.
Following the ceremony to kick off the 2023 business year, eight executives paid their respects at Daejeon National Cemetery.
They also vowed to contribute to the national economy and national security as a public entity of nuclear power.
