Incheon International Airport Corp. (IIAC) became the world¡¯s first airport company to set up a pavilion at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023, which took place at Las Vegas, the United States, from Jan. 5 to Jan. 8.
CES 2023, which opened offline for the first time in three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, wrapped up a four-day run with a success by attracting approximately 100,000 spectators.
IIAC, the world¡¯s first airport company that participated in CES 2023, opened ¡°Incheon International Airport Pavilion¡± and revealed the concept and blueprint of a future airport by displaying new future technologies, convergence airport passenger services and operation technologies, such as metaverse, urban air mobility (UAM) and biometrics sectors.
Spectators at Incheon International Airport Pavilion were given the chance to enjoy first-hand experiences about the whole process of airport passenger services ranging from trip preparation at home to boarding and digital twin-based advanced airport operation methods.
The pavilion was operated under the theme ¡°Future Airport.¡±
Specifically, biometrics information is registered at home, and is used conveniently for ¡°My Airport,¡± smart pass, and UAM, a future air transportation means.
The pavilion realized Incheon Airport¡¯s changed features, adopting new diverse technologies, jointly developed by Incheon Airport and SMEs, ranging from Incheon Airport parking navigation to AR indoor navigation, digital twin-based Incheon Airport VR services and three-dimension aviation traffic control system and meta-airport collecting self-driving spatial information.

Incheon Airport Teams Up with LA Airport to Explore Ramping Up Future Competitiveness
Incheon International Airport Corp. (IIAC) struck a deal to boost exchanges with Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) at LA Airport on Jan. 6.
Officials of both sides, including IIAC President Kim Kyung-wook, LAWA President Justin Erbacci and LAWA Commissioner Nicholas Roxborough, were present at the signing ceremony.
LA Airport is the United States¡¯ representative hub with the highest passengers and transfer demand in North America.
Incheon and LA airports have maintained mutual cooperation to retain and expand international aviation demand since 2001, when they struck an agreement on cooperation.
No official exchanges were made due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the latest deal, both sides plan to expand information and manpower exchanges.
The agreement calls for regularly discussing policies related to airport and international industry trends and implementing information exchange and joint projects.
Both airports plan to form working groups to make in-depth discussions to explore common
concern matters contributing to strengthening their competitiveness and to create practical outcomes.
IIAC President Kim said, ¡°Under the cooperation deal. we plan to implement diverse and actual cooperative projects in cooperation with LA Airport.¡±
IIAC plans to expand exchanges with foreign advanced airports to ramp up competitiveness of future airport and transfer Incheon Airport¡¯s outstanding technology and knowhow, contributing to developing the global aviation industry, President Kim added.
