Shinhan Life, a Top 2 Insurer in Korea, Aims for Global Expansion

President Lee Young-jong of Shinhan Life announces a vision at a ceremony to inaugurate “Team LIFE 2023” as he took office at Shinhan Life headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, on Jan. 3.

Shinhan Life held a ceremony to launch “Team Life 2023” in keeping with the inauguration by new President Lee Young-jong, the insurer said on Jan. 3.

Eighty-nine department heads and three subsidiary presidents participated in the event, during which participants vowed to make Shinhan Life a global insurer, beyond being the domestic No. 2 insurer.

Team LIFE 2023 connotates that not only the CEO, but all others, will become “One Team” to achieve the company’s ambitions.

During the event, President Lee gave his inaugural greetings and stressed his determination to make an ambitious dream of becoming a world-class Shinhan Life, beyond the domestic top 2 insurer, “Team LIFE 2023 legend.”

President Lee declared a vison of creating a company in which people want to work and announced core management tasks to achieve it: implementing unshakable business innovation strategies; achieving sustainable outcomes; taking preemptive steps to create future growth engines; and building a corporate culture of trust and communication.

In his inaugural speech, President Lee said, “It is worthwhile and a sense of pride for me to see if Shinhan Life will successfully achieve integration and grow into a world-class leader.”

“I extend thanks to executives and staff members as well as sales people who have fulfilled their given missions,” he said.

“If all executives and staff members, as well as salespeople, join force in unison as One Team, I will make a frontline dream of becoming a world-class leader will come true,” he said.

Following the event, President Lee visited each floor of Shinhan Life headquarters and exchanged New Year greetings and views.

Meanwhile, Shinhan Life is implementing steps to ramp up the competitiveness of the insurer and business innovation through the new business model “Business Innovation Strategies” from this year in order to make a fresh growth and a leap forward based on outstanding financial soundness.
