NH NongHyup Financial Group held the 1st IT eXPERT Competition in 2022 at the Ambassador Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul on Dec. 6.
“IT eXPERT” is a category of talented people that NH NongHyup Financial Group pursues. It means digital transformation with X standing for “Transformation,” P “Professionalism,” E “Engagement”, R “Relationship” and T “Technology.”
This competition, which reflects NH NongHyup Financial Group’s will to create a culture to give preferential treatment to IT developers, went down in NH NongHyup history as the first event where key IT personnel, including developers from all NH NongHyup affiliates, gather in one place.
In particular, NongHyup Bank’s Information Security Department took home the prize in the new technology category in recognition for the application of facial authentication technology to business PCs which resulted in eliminating user inconvenience and raising the bank’s security level to a higher level.
NH Savings Bank won the prize in the engagement category, obtaining high points for launching Special Guarantee Sunshine Loan for Those with Poor Credit Scores in a timely manner for the first time among nonmonetary institutions by utilizing its own human resources.
The loan’s development period was minimized in order to respond quickly to the government’s policy to support common people having difficulty using institutionalized finance.
Its customer convenience was enhanced by simplifying the subscription process by about 40 percent.
The prize in the transformation category went to NongHyup Bank’s establishment of comprehensive financial platform establishment.
The relationship prize went to NH Investment & Securities’ Information Security Role Reinforcement for DT Acceleration Project.
“NH NongHyup Financial Group which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, is standing at an important point to move forward as a digital financial group,” said NH NongHyup Chairman Son Byung-hwan, who has always emphasized the importance of IT for digital transformation.

‘Sharing Kimchi of Love’ Event
NH NongHyup Financial Group announced that Vice President Bae Bu-yeol and employee volunteers held the Sharing Kimchi of Love Event at Wangdaechu Village in Yeonggwimi-myeon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon Province on Nov. 29.
The financial group has been sharing kimchi made with agricultural products from its sisterhood villages with the underprivileged in local communities through the kimchi sharing event that started in 2013.
In particular, this year, in celebration of its 10th year, the scale of kimchi-making was greatly increased compared to 2021 to support neighbors suffering from rising consumer prices and participate in the promotion of Korean agricultural products consumption for Korean farmers.
Following the kimchi-making event, NongHyup Financial Group’s Volunteer Social Contribution Corps visited welfare organizations located in Jung-gu, Seoul on Nov. 30 and delivered kimchi to the welfare organizations.
The kimchi will be delivered to neighbors in need such as senior citizens living alone, single-parent families and marginalized children through the welfare organizations.
10th Anniversary Seminar with VIP Customers
NH NongHyup Financial Group announced on Nov. 11 that it held an invitational seminar for its customers in honor of its 10th anniversary at the Signiel Hotel in Busan on Nov. 10.
About 100 people gathered at the seminar, including VIP customers and asset managers from NongHyup Bank, NongHyup Life Insurance, and NH Investment & Securities, all of which are affiliates of NH NongHyup Financial Group.
The seminar began with a real estate lecture under the theme of 2023 Real Estate Market Trends and Keywords and Investment Strategies by NH WM Masters expert Kim Hyo-sun of NongHyup Bank’s NH All100 Advisory Center.
After the internal lecture, Prof. Myung Seung-kwon of the National Cancer Center gave a lecture titled “Correct Lifestyle for Health and Health Functional Foods.”
“Celebrating the 10th anniversary of NongHyup Financial Group this year, I want to express my genuine gratitude to customers who have always stood for us and given support to us,” Chairman Son said.
“We will continue to provide the best service for customers while pumping up our efforts for customer asset management.”
