Korea Asset Management Corp. (KAMCO) hosted an auction experts¡¯ seminar for the second half of 2022 at the grand room of Korea Association of Property Appraisers (KAPA) in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on Nov. 10.
The seminar was an opportunity for auction experts to get together twice a year to share views to explore ways of raising the soundness of the auction market.
The latest seminar was held under the theme ¡°Strengthening the Auction Platform.¡±
Prof. Han Se-eok of Dong-a University spoke about the expanding of the auction platform and strengthening its competitiveness in an era of digital transformation.
Prof. Hanh stressed the need to raise access to public auctions by proactively utilizing digital innovation technologies in keeping with the rising trend of property technology (prop-tech) services and endeavor the diversifying of channels to gather data.
Dr. Byun Se-il of the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements (KRIHS) made a presentation on the topic of ways to overhaul systems to ram up the transparency of housing transactions.
Dr. Byun stressed the need to expand the public disclosure of information owed by public entities and strengthen monitoring through institutional connectivity and disciplining of violations, unifying a regulatory body and ramping up cooperation between the central and local governments.
During the following discussion, Prof. Lee Hyun-suk of Konkuk University, Prof. Kang Jung-gyu of Dong-Eui University, lawyer Kang Tae-hyun, and Park Yu-ri, a center head of Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISD), had in-depth discussions as panelists.
Kim Gwi-soo, chief at the Household Support Division at KAMCO, said, ¡°The matters discussed during the seminar will be fully reflected to overhaul KAMCO¡¯s duties related to the auction system, such as the next-generation tax receivable management system.¡±
KAMCO will expand channels to gather experts¡¯ views to overhaul the public auction system in the future, Kim said.
Meanwhile, KAMCO has been expanding opportunities to gather views from diverse walks of life and build human network by hosting an auction experts¡¯ seminar in May to overhaul the public auction system.

Korea Asset Management Corp. (KAMCO) struck an MOU to build EV charging stations at urban centers through the private sector¡¯s investment with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Energy Corp. at KAMCO¡¯s Yangjae Center in Seoul on Nov. 10.
The deal calls for expanding EV charging infrastructure using public sites, owned by state and SMG and complying with the government¡¯s carbon neutrality policy and green mobility supply.
