K-water is aggressively coping with changes in the water industry sector to comply with a rapidly changing paradigm like climate change and digital transformation.

In particular, the corporation is putting its soul and heart to develop effective technologies people can experience firsthand.

K-water finished up successfully 2022 K-water Tech Conference at K-water headquarters in Daejeon on Oct. 24, the corporation said on Oct. 26.

2022 K-water Tech Conference, the fourth rendition, is the corporation¡¯s representative academic event.

2022 K-water Tech Conference was held under the theme ¡°Sharing Future Management Technology Development Outcomes.¡±

During the conference, out of a combined 108 technology development outcomes, 14 outcomes — eight outcome cases and six outstanding, open innovation outcomes — were made public.

A screening team of outside and inside experts selected two grand prizes, four top prizes, five outstanding prizes, and participation prize winners.

The grand prize, the environment minister¡¯s award, went to K-water Water & Sewage Research Institute¡¯s developing and verifying of core technologies related to the building of K-water-type dam upper-stream smart sewage system and Pusan National University Prof. Kim Sang-hyun¡¯s developing of duct system-tailored, water pressure-based flow measurement module.

K-water Water & Sewage Research Institute¡¯s developing and verifying of core technologies related to the building of K-water-type dam upper-stream smart sewage system is a sewage treatment center diagnosis algorism technology realized with microorganism activity and settling measurement technology related to a small-sized sewage treatment center at the upper-stream of a dam, a blind spot in the government¡¯s smart sewage policies.

K-water has completed the building and verifying of a test-bed on the Janghang Sewage Treatment Center developed on its own.

The duct system-tailored, water pressure-based flow measurement module is paradigm shift from the conventional measure principles to an estimation method on the whole system.

Yu In-sun, head of the Technology Management Department of K-water¡¯s Technology Planning Division, said, ¡°An efficient technology development will be realized thorough a whole-cycle technology development management process.¡±

K-water will fulfill its roles as a leading water technology institution through spreading of outcomes to the public by sharing research outcomes and core technologies outward, Yu said.

K-water Hosts 2022 Innovation Week

K-water will hold ¡°2022 Innovation Week¡± under the catchphrase ¡°Innovation, New Daily Life¡± that takes place until Nov. 2, the corporation said on Oct. 24.
