Signs a business agreement with the KNPA to root out phone financial fraud and fake deposit bank passbooks

On Oct. 13, KB Kookmin Bank signed a business agreement with the Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) to eradicate phone financial fraud and fake deposit bank passbooks.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of officials from the two institutions, including KNPA Commissioner Yoon Hee-keun and KB Kookmin Bank President Lee Jae-keun at the National Police Agency (KNPA) Headquarters in Seodaemun-gu Seoul on the day. 

KB Kookmin Bank and the Korean National Police Agency are planning to cooperate with measures to eradicate phone financial fraud and fake deposit bank passbooks, to prevent phone financial fraud¡¯s damage to customers and to promote rewards for those who contributed to the prevention of phone financial fraud and arrests of criminals.

The two sides have agreed to promote practical damage prevention measures to preemptively block telephone financial fraud from victimizing innocent people. 

They will do so by establishing a hotline between bank employees and KNPA officials and sharing the latest cases and new and variant phone financial fraud methods.

In order to prevent fraud that happens face-to-face, which has been on the sharp rise in recent years, they will establish a system for promptly reporting and dispatching police officers when suspicious transactions occur at KB Kookmin Bank¡¯s service windows and automatic teller machines. 

They will give rewards to those who contributed to the prevention of phone financial frauds and the arrest of criminals. 

¡°Until phone financial fraud is completely eradicated, we will not only step up our efforts to prevent phone financial fraud and hold those who committed it accountable, we will actively cooperate with related institutions such as financial institutions,¡± KNPA Commissioner Yoon said.

¡°As a financial company that protects customer assets, we will continue to make efforts to prevent phone financial frauds¡¯ damage with a strong sense of responsibility,¡± KB Kookmin Bank President Lee said.

¡°KB Kookmin Bank will do everything it can do to root out phone financial fraud and fake deposit bank passbooks with this agreement with the KNPA as strong momentum.¡±


Business Agreement with Poland¡¯s Bank Pekao

KB Kookmin Bank announced that it has signed a business agreement on mutual cooperation with Poland¡¯s Bank Pekao on Oct. 6. 
KB Kookmin Bank will collaborate with Bank Pekao in introducing and recommend customers in areas such as corporate loans.
 
They have decided to support Korean companies and local partner companies in Poland, and cooperate in providing various financial products in the trade finance sector such as guarantees and letters of credit. 

By combining Bank Pekao¡¯s local market know-how and KB Kookmin Bank¡¯s ability to support Korean companies, they will strengthen their sales power in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe.

¡°KB Kookmin Bank and Bank Pekao will do everything in their power to provide more diverse and competitive financial services,¡± a KB Kookmin Bank official said. ¡°KB Kookmin Bank will do its best to make KB Financial Group a future-leading global financial group.¡±

Bank Pekao was established as a state-run bank in 1929. It was acquired by PZU, the largest financial group in Eastern Europe, and PFR, a Polish state-owned development fund in 2017.


Reorganization of KB Star Banking Financial Product Mall 

KB Kookmin Bank announced on Oct. 20 that it has reorganized KB Star Banking Financial Product Mall. The change was made to provide customer experiences similar to purchasing general products at ordinary online shopping malls, focusing on customers¡¯ shopping process from product searches and information verification to product subscriptions. 

First, the product search stage was reorganized to focus on recommended products and searches. 

It selects themes that reflect trends, such as travels for customers who wish to go on long-awaited trips and preparations for retirees¡¯ comfortable future and presents related financial products so that the products can be naturally matched with customer needs.

Its search function has also been improved so that customers can quickly find products that fit their purposes and wishes. By entering keywords such as ¡®MZ generation,¡¯ ¡®seed money¡¯ and ¡®tax advice,¡¯ you can look at related products, such as deposits, funds, and loans at a glance.
