The Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK) will hold a webinar on default options for defined contribution (DC) and individual retirement pension (IRP) retirement pension subscribers from Oct. 19 to 24.
The default option system is run as a pre-designated product when deposit maturity arrives for DC and IRP retirement pensions, unless separate management instructions are given.
This webinar will be held directly by experts from asset management companies, and detailed explanations about target date funds (TDFs), a core product that constitutes default options, will be provided along with guidance on default options.
Customers wishing to participate in the webinar can reach the YouTube page through a QR code in accordance with implementation dates of each management company, or through a message sent to DC and IRP subscribers in advance.
All Financial Transaction Notification Service
The IBK announced on Oct. 18 that it will partner with Tencube, a financial data analysis company, to launch a financial transaction notification service that allows IBK customers to collect and view transaction notifications from financial institutions in i-ONE Asset Management App.
“All Financial Transaction Notification” is a service that collects text messages, financial apps and financial notifications received through KakaoTalk and provides them as real-time pop-ups.
It analyzes financial transactions in real time and provides information on services or products that can benefit customers.
This service is eligible for Android smartphone users who subscribe to i-ONE Asset Management. They even can check notifications from organizations that are not connected to MyData in real time.
Launch of IBK DC Heroes Credit Card
The IBK announced on Oct. 6 that it launched IBK DC Heroes Credit Card, with DC superhero characters. On Sept. 26, IBK launched IBK DC Heroes Check Card with images of DC superheroes such as Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman for the first time in Korea.
This time, more colorful images of superheroes were included in the credit card design.
IBK DC Heroes Credit Card provides benefits such as unlimited one-percent cashback in six life areas — telecommunication, transportation, dining, convenience stores, online shopping and hospitals, and additional one-percent cashback (up to 100,000 won per month) in everyday life sectors.
IBK DC Heroes Credit Card targets individual members. Customers can apply for the issuance of the card at branches nationwide or by using the IBK’s smart banking application i-ONE bank.
The annual membership fee is 12,000 won for domestic and overseas use and 10,000 won for domestic use.
Moreover, DC Super Hero goods will be presented to customers who spend 10,000 won or more after being issued a credit card, in honor of the launch of the product.
IBK Sustainability Report Wins Grand Prize at LACP Vision Awards
The IBK announced on Oct. 11 that its sustainability report had won the Grand Prize at the 2021 LACP Vision Awards, hosted by the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP), a marketing research organization.
The 2021 LACP International Design Awards has been awarding prizes every year since 2001 by evaluating sustainability reports and annual reports of more than 1,000 companies around the world.
The evaluation consists of eight evaluation items. The eight are first impressions, covers, stakeholders, interview contents, financial reports, creativity, the clarity of contents and accessibility.
The IBK report received perfect scores in seven items and was honored with grand prizes given only to about 70 companies around the world.
The IBK added meaning to the award by not entrusting the entire process of publishing the sustainability report to an external service agency, but rather having employees participate in the entire process, from preparation to the review.
