LS Group held ¡°LS Future Day,¡± the-first-of-its-kind event designed to share ideas and R&D on new future businesses and good performance cases on digital transformation.
About 200 executives and staff members, including CEOs, CTOs and CDOs of the group¡¯s subsidiaries, participated in the event held at LS Tower in Anyang, Gyeonggi-do, on Sept. 19.
Each subsidiary presented examples, and an awards ceremony took place. LS Future Day is an expanded version of LS T-Fair, an event to share R&D outcomes, which had taken place since 2004.
LS Future Day is an event to encompass not only the conventional businesses, but also future business sectors to accelerate the ¡°two-faceted management¡± Chairman Koo Ja-eun has implemented since his inauguration.
During the event, each subsidiary presented outcomes of 20 projects it implemented in three sectors: new business, technology and innovation and took time to share them.
Award-winning executives and staff members were given an opportunity to participate in CES 2023 along with LS Chairman Koo and get a glimpse into the latest technology trends.
In his speech, Chairman Koo said, ¡°We can see your creativity into what the shape of futurists which will change the future of LS.¡± He called for all staff members to be futurists and make LS grow twice faster than now by 2030.
Oh Young-jae described 32 years of efforts for the successful launch of the space rocket, Nuri.
LS Chairman Koo said, ¡°People looking for dreams endlessly will ultimately create a new future, and I will play the part of a launch pad so that you can fly with full strength like a rocket, I will let you challenge to your heart¡¯s content.¡±
Chairman Koo spoke of four factors to realize creative ideas: horizontal communication, agile organization, accepting failure and rewarding achievement.
He said, ¡°LS will do its utmost to create an environment in which you can look for dreams and realize them.¡±
Among the six projects designated as ideas that will lead to the group¡¯s future growth in the new business category are LS Cable & System¡¯s reutilizing used cables and LS ELECTRIC¡¯s charging EVs at multi-unit dwellings.
Nine company tasks were selected as R&D cases with a superb competitive edge in the technology category, including LS Cable & System¡¯s super-fast EV-charging cable and LS ELECTRIC¡¯s American-flavored low-pressure switchboard.
Among tasks presented by five companies as innovative examples in the innovation category are LS ELECTRIC¡¯s smart factory and LS-Nikko Copper¡¯s autonomous oxygen control per ton.
Three speakers, including Park Hyung-geun, senior researcher with POSCO Research Institute, gave lectures on the case of Tesla selected as the best company globally in the new business, technology and innovation categories.
LS Group plans to regularize LS Future Day, which has received a good reception this time and hold it around September once every year.

LS Holds ¡®LS Partner CEO Forum¡¯
LS held ¡°LS Partner CEO Forum,¡± the first of its kind event designed to listen to major cooperative companies¡¯ grievances and complaints.
They also shared future strategies and visions, and vowed to purse shared growth at LS Future Research Institute.
In the recent years, each subsidiary of LS Group had a meeting to communicate with its cooperative companies.
LS Corp., the holding company of the group, hosted the latest extended event. About 80 representatives, including LS Corp.
Myung Noh-hyun, CEOs of subsidiaries, and CEOs of Hanmi Electric Wire and other cooperative companies, took part in the forum.
Starting with the forum, LS plans to regularize an event once or twice every year to communicated with cooperative company CEOs on information related to taxes and give lectures on leadership.
