LG Uplus did not open an exhibition hall targeting spectators, but operated only a 5G service zone at the Hall Z.
LS Uplus established a sole pavilion at MWC 2023, which may be construed as the telecom service provider¡¯s strategy to aggressively publicize its own platforms and expand markets as spectators to the upcoming fair are expected to rise in the post-COVID pandemic.
To this end, LG Uplus President Hwang Hyun-shik is known to suggest the company¡¯s future technologies and vision to spectators to the MWC 2023 and discuss ways of promoting cooperation with its global business partners.
LG Uplus officials said the company¡¯s establishment of its sole pavilion will serve as an opportunity to have its core services known to its global business partners.

LG Uplus Releases Subscription-Type Smart Factory Service
LG Uplus put on the market a cloud-based subscription service for smart factories, the telecom service provider said on Aug. 1.
The step is designed to secure more SME customers based on B2B by easing companies¡¯ burden on initially investing into the establishment of smart factories.
As a result, LG Uplus has become the last company of the nation¡¯s three telecom service providers to enter the smart factory market employing the latest automation technologies such as AI and robots.
The subscription-type smart factory service offers AI vision testing, motor diagnosis and equipment prediction and preservation to prevent faulty products by searching unnormal symptoms of machines and quality inspection process.
As LG Uplus analyzes and diagnoses the quality of products and conditions of equipment based on AI, SMEs with insufficient operation and maintenance/repair methods are expected to improve the quality of products, the company said.
Since LG Uplus¡¯ Mobile Edge Computing Center is connected with customers¡¯ factories via the exclusive 5G network, telecom security is superior, it said.
The most basic facility of the smart factory market to raise work efficiency by connecting factory equipment via networks is telecom infrastructure.
As a result, telecom service providers are giving top priority to the smart factory business, which has grown fast of late.
