Launches the second group of the Hana Waves to promote the growth of female leaders

Hana Financial Group announced that it held an event to mark the start of the Hana Power On Innovation Company Internship to actively participate in solving the youth job problem in the auditorium of Hana Financial Group¡¯s Myeong-dong headquarters.

The Hana Power On Innovation Company Internship is a social value creation program to support corporate growth by connecting social innovation companies having difficulty in recruitment with young people and internships for young designers, people with disabilities, and women with job experience.

Hana Financial Group has been conducting internship programs to rev up the social economy and create jobs since 2018. It will expand the program in earnest to help more young people get decent jobs beginning from 2022.

A total of 100 people attended the event, including Hana Financial Group Chairman Ham Young-joo, Vice Minister of Employment and Labor Kwon Ki-sup and interns at social innovation companies.

The interns selected for this internship consist of a variety of talented people, including young designers, disabled people, and women with job experience. 

They will participate in a three-month internship at each selected social innovation company in the future. 

Hana Financial Group will continue to play a role in creating quality jobs through additional support, while supporting social innovation companies by providing job enhancement programs and internship salaries among others.

Those who got jobs at social innovation companies through the Hana internship program informed interns of their experience and know-how, in addition to the provision of internship programs, and a tour of social innovation companies¡¯ booths.

¡°We understand that job creation and corporate growth are the basis for creating a happy society,¡± chairman Ham said in a speech to give encouragement to interns. ¡°We will support the Hana Power On Innovation Company Internship Program so that it will be of big practical help to participants.¡± 

Hana Financial Group joined the Youth Employment Support Membership run by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Enterprises Federation in April. 

Hana is promoting the Hana Social Venture University Project to create jobs in the region through youth start-up support with 10 universities across the nation.

In addition, Hana Financial Group has been promoting support for internship and start-ups, social innovation companies and the employment of middle-aged people through the group¡¯s representative program, ¡°Hana Power On Challenge,¡± to create social value since 2018.

In the meantime, Hana Financial Group announced that it held the launch ceremony for the second group of the group's female leader development program, "the Hana Waves" in the auditorium on July 14.

The Hana Waves, which marks its second anniversary in 2022, is a program launched last June by Hana Financial Group to foster female leaders who will lead the group's future. 

¡°Waves¡± stands for Women¡¯s Actions, Voices, and Emotions. It means that women¡¯s actions, voices, and emotions create waves of innovation.

Chairman Ham, who attended the launch ceremony, encouraged participants in the Hana Waves and had time to talk about attitudes which leaders tend to have.

A total of 36 female employees were selected for the Hana Waves Program after being recommended by CEOs of each affiliated company. 

By the end of this year, they will learn about leaders¡¯ attitudes and develop specialized skills through further upgraded programs, such as mentoring, an online MBA course, a professional courses and strategic tasks. 

¡°Women¡¯s gentle and delicate leadership will play an important role across generations in the rapidly changing financial business,¡± Chairman Ham told them. 

¡°As Hana Financial Group has high expectations for you selected in recognition of your excellence at workplaces, I hope you will grow into great female leaders with strength and sincerity.¡±
