M365, introduced by GS Caltex, is part of the company¡¯s deep transformation. A pilot project, launched in early this year, has built digital work environment.

The introduction of M365 is expected to improve work flow and dramatically upgrade connectivity of each work area by creating a creative work environment such communication, conference, document and security by ramping up productivity and efficiency based on a work environment of the integrated ¡°Modern Work¡± method.

The integrated ¡°Modern Work¡± method is a horizontal and futuristic work environment, a departure from the conventional work environment.

In particular, GS Caltex has built more advanced document security system by employing the nation¡¯s top security level E5 license packages companywide.

A certification system designed to determine users, contact location, device information and conditions can manage work devices in a safe fashion, thus protecting sensitive inside data from a risk of outside leakage and allowing document writers to trace and retrieve their documents.

Lee Jae-joon, head of GS Caltex DX Center, said, ¡°The application of M365 will build ¡°Anywhere, Anytime, Any device¡± (AAA) environment.¡±

The change of working is designed to raise productivity and prioritize securing the safety of customer services, he added.

GS Caltex Ramps Up Supply Network ESG Management

GS Caltex has stepped up ESG management of supply chains targeting its cooperative companies, subsidiaries and overseas operations.

GS Caltex said on June 30 the company will conduct an expanded ESG evaluation of supply chains of 331 core cooperative companies for four months.

The move is part of the company¡¯s efforts to preemptively comply with EU Commission¡¯s guideline on due diligence for EY businesses to address the risk of forced labor in their operations and supply chains.

The evaluation will check each cooperative company¡¯s policy, execution and compliance of each category.

Evaluation questions consist of four areas — human rights and labor, safety/health, environment, ethics and management system, reflecting Korean and foreign ESG trends.

In 2018, GS Caltex established a code of conducts targeting its cooperative companies and conducted a pilot project of evaluating supply chain ESG.

The number of cooperative companies who undergo ESG evaluations expanded to 107 in 2020, 316 in 2021 and 331 this year.

GS Caltex has strengthened a supply chain management system as the company conducted an ESG evaluation of its subsidiaries and overseas operations related directly to production in May prior to the latest evaluation.
