IBK announced on May 25 that it successfully held an event for IBK Changgong Demonstration Day for the first half of 2022 at IBK Finance Tower in Euljiro, Seoul. IBK Changgong is a startup incubation platform.
As this event was held after COVID-19 quarantine regulations were eased, its scale was the largest ever, with the participation of four IBK Changgong Centers, which are located in Mapo and Guro in Seoul, Busan, and Daejeon.
On the first day, the Demonstration Day Event was opened by companies specializing in ¡°deep tech.¡± The companies are startups that usually produce cutting-edge hardware or software based on research and development.
Thirteen companies included Terralix, Moba Wheel and AU. Terralix develops hydrogen fuel cell stacks and power packs for mobility.
Moba Wheel produces AIoT-based road surface detection sensors. AU focuses on radar sensor items for detecting humans in vehicles.
They presented their business plans, future directions, new technologies and products at their own corporate exhibition booths.
The first keynote speech on Demonstration Day was delivered by Managing Director Lee Jong-min of SK Telecom, who is in charge of telecommunication research and development, startup discovery, business connection, synergy analysis, and investment connection.
Managing Director Lee also made a presentation on the future technology that SK Telecom pursues and ways to collaborate with startups.
After the event, a networking session was held for those from large and medium-sized companies, venture capitalists, and related start-up organizations who wish to establish collaborative models with innovative start-up companies and to discover new business items.
IBK live-streamed the event in real time through the official IBK Changgong YouTube channel for the general public and startup officials who could not attend the event in person.
In addition, company booths created in a metaverse world for online participants to feel the on-site atmosphere, attracting favorable responses from the online participants.
¡°IBK has expanded its roles in promoting startup ecosystems by opening the IBK Changgong Seoul National University Camp, IBK Changgong Daejeon and building the official IBK Changgong website,¡± IBK CEO Yoon Jong-won said.

IBK Changgong is a startup incubation platform that supports financial and non-financial services such as making investment in startups and giving loans, offering consulting and providing free office space to startups.
Since opening the first IBK Changgong Center in Mapo in December 2017, IBK has been running IBK Changgong Centers at Seoul National University Camp and in Guro, Busan and Daejeon.
By the end of April, IBK supported startups by proving financial services such as investment and loans, mentoring, consulting and non-financial services such as IR events to 460 companies a total of 6,275 times.
Meanwhile, IBK announced on May 26 that the IBK Call Center was selected as Korea's Best Call Center for 16 consecutive years in the call center category of the 2022 Korea Service Quality Index (KSQI) by Korea Management Association Consulting (KMAC).
KMAC evaluates the KSQI of 340 call centers in 52 industries in Korea and selects Korea¡¯s Best Call Centers among them.
The IBK Call Center zeroed in on increasing its capability to deal with a sharp increase in incoming calls such as inquiries about loans to support small businesses and the launch of non-face-to-face financial products.
IBK runs its ARS system according to various situations, such as the front layout of service codes and announcements.
At the same time, a rapid response team was newly established. The rapid response team copes with specific issues and special situations.
Moreover, the bank boosted its work productivity by activating the rotation of employees tasked with corporate banking and loan counseling.
IBK is also continuously promoting the center¡¯s transition to a digital call center. In June 2020, it introduced a voice identity verification service.
It will launch AI-powered counseling services which provide better counseling services by analyzing IBK employees¡¯ conversations with customers.
¡°We are also providing services for the financially marginalized through priority counseling for senior citizens and foreign language services in seven languages for foreign customers and sign language services,¡± an IBK official said.
¡°We will provide easy, fast and convenient services unique to the IBK Call Center down the road.¡±
