LS ELECTRIC acquired the power plant asset analytics platform ALO from Nokia. The acquisition may be construed as LS ELECTRIC¡¯s move to strengthen its asset management software (AMS) business.
LS ELECTRIC struck an agreement to take over Nokia¡¯s Asset Lifecycle Optimization (ALO) software based on big data analytics and machine learning technology at the Hanover Fairground in Germany on June 7.
Utilizing AMS will enable analysis of the default rate, life span and replacement period of power installations through digital technologies, such as AI, big data and cloud computing.
LS ELECTRIC said the size of the global AMS market is predicted to stand at 7 trillion won in 2027.
LS ELECTRIC CTO Kim Young-keun said, ¡°With the acquisition of Nokia¡¯s ALO, LS ELECTRIC will systematically manage large amounts of big data by linking them to the standardized platform.¡±
LS ELECTRIC showcases world-class power and automation smart energy solutions based on ICT at Hannover Messe 2022 from May 30 to June 2.
LS ELECTRIC Showcases Eco-Friendly DC Solutions at Hannover Messe 2022
LS ELECTRIC unveiled world-class power and automation smart energy solutions based on ICT at Hannover Messe 2022, one of the world¡¯s biggest industry fairs.
During the four-day period from May 30 to June 2, LS ELECTRIC participated in the Hannover Messe 2022.
LS ELECTRIC showcased smart power and automation integrated solution capabilities with a focus on DC technologies under the theme ¡°Integrated Energy Solutions for Carbon Neutrality.¡±
LS ELECTRIC¡¯s pavilion covered 145 sq. meters and was divided into three zones: carbon neutrality solution, digital transformation, and smart factory solutions. Global customers were given the chance in which they experienced solutions in person.
LS ELECTRIC placed on the front the eco-friendly 170kV 50kA grade GIS (gas-insulated switchgear) that uses eco-friendly insulator g3 gas (CO2, O2, Fluorinated Nitrile hybrid gas) which was developed last year for the first time in South Korea and unveiled strategic products tailored to meet the global carbon neutrality market.
The gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) has proved to have dramatically reduced more than 90 percent in the global warming potential (GWP). The conventional gas-insulated switchgear uses sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), blamed for causing global warming.
LS ELECTRIC went into mass production after completing R&D on the gas-insulated switchgear. GIS is a major equipment for adjusting power transmission and distribution using gas.
LS ELECTRIC also unveiled next-generation smart power solutions such as DC, 1,500V, molded case circuit breaker (MCCB), DC, 1,000V, 1,500V relay, and AC 1,150V air circuit breaker.
The company also introduced the next-generation ESS platform Modular Scalable String Platform (MSSP).
