Hyundai Mobis is accelerating efforts to ramp up its presence in the European Market, with advanced technologies for autonomous driving, infotainment and electrification.
Hyundai Mobis held its own tech show, inviting 200 global automaker executives and working officials, including ones with Stellantis and Renault procurement and R&D departments. The event took place over two days, from June 14 to 15, to present its latest innovations.
In addition to introducing new products, Hyundai Mobis also presented key technologies in its demonstrator vehicles. The tech show was held at the Jean-Pierre Beltoise Circuit, a racing track.
Among the 27 new technologies unveiled by Hyundai Mobis were AR Head Up Displays (HUDs), Grille Lighting, Swivel Displays, In-Cabin Sensing, In-Wheel Systems, and Rear Wheel Steering systems (RWS).
'Lighting grille' technology, developed by Hyundai Mobis, implements an LED lighting function in the front grille of the car.
The show covered all essential technologies in the field of Autonomous Driving, Electrification, and In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI).
The technologies, designed to meet strict European requirements in terms of quality and sustainability, were embedded in electric cars and 48v mild hybrid cars.
Hyundai Mobis officials said the tech show in Paris took on significance as Hyundai Mobis accelerated efforts to land orders from global automakers as the protracted pandemic was approaching an end.
The tech show was designed to expand Hyundai Mobis¡¯ efforts to land orders in the North America area to the European region to secure a new client base.
The tech show was the beginning of Hyundai Mobis¡¯ efforts to make inroads into the European automobile market, which is dominated by European parts makers, by mobilizing the competitiveness of its new technologies and aggressive client-oriented marketing activities.
Hyundai Mobis saw orders from Europe double in the recent three years. For Hyundai Mobis, Europe is the second biggest market after North America.
According to Axel Joachim Maschka, Head of Global OE Sales, Executive Vice President at Hyundai Mobis, ¡°Hyundai Mobis will increase the number of new orders for our latest products to satisfy the needs of European customers and mount diverse tech marketing campaigns.¡±
In order to further increase touchpoints with customers worldwide, Hyundai Mobis participated in the IAA (International motor show in Germany) in September 2021 and the CES in Las Vegas in January this year.
Hyundai Mobis also set up new key account management (KAM) organizations in North America, Europe and Japan, and expanded its R&D network of engineering experts from various automotive fields to address regional customers¢¥ needs and expectations.
