KB Kookmin Card announced on May 2 that it will provide the Data Route Service based on an online big data analysis integration platform.
It will be provided free of charge to 228 key local governments across the country from May 10 to the end of this year.
This measure aims at resolving the national issues of local economy revitalization and support for small business owners who are having difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
In the past, card companies provided only some analysis data or consumption trend analysis report in response to the needs of local governments. It is the first case in the card industry for KB Kookmin Card to fully open a visualized big data analysis platform to local governments free of charge.
The Data Route Service provided free of charge contains the results of card big data analyses in an integrated online environment without time and space constraints.
It also features improved data accessibility as it uses visualized reports and various auxiliary services.
Local governments can use big data topic analysis and visualization reports through an analysis solution based on KB Kookmin Card¡¯s diverse and vast data analysis, such as demographic information and merchant information through Data Route.
In addition to the free Data Route Service, KB Kookmin Card will discuss individual big data requests from local governments in the future, such as theme analysis that analyzes specific topics and trends, local festivals and the revitalization of commercial areas, visitor characteristics, event effects, tourism and event analysis and give additional support with regard to them.

They conducted creative community-specific social contribution activities such as producing goods using waste tires and selling them, installing solar-powered streetlamps in underdeveloped areas and reflectors in alleyways.
Therefore, Korea Trade Investment Promotion Corporation (KOTRA) selected the case as one of the excellent corporate social responsibility (CSR) instances for Korean Companies in the ASEAN region published by the KOTRA.
KB Kookmin Card has been continuously carrying out global ESG management activities in Southeast Asian countries, including Cambodia such as the donation of pop-up books for financial education and safety umbrellas for children.
