The comparative evaluation, carried out in the latest edition of the Auto Bild, was made on IONIQ 5, Audi Q4 e-tron and Polestar 2, the three models that square off fiercely in the European EV market.

Auto Bild said IONIQ 5 does not require much power to accelerate up to 185 kilometers per hour, thanks to its powerful but quiet acceleration performance, and also praised the carmaker¡¯s i-Pedal, or one-pedal driving, which works by applying the brakes as soon as one lifts one¡¯s foot off the pedal.
IONIQ 5 also defeated Benz EV EQB in a comparative EV evaluation, carried in the ninth edition of Auto Bild in early March.
Auto Bild conducted the one-on-one evaluation in seven categories, including body, comport, powertrain and driving dynamics, connected car, environment and costs and 53 detailed categories.
IONIQ 5 got 582 out of the possible 800 points overall, compared to 562 points for Benz EQB. IONIQ 5 beat or equaled Benz EQB in five categories, excluding comfort and connected car.
