NongHyup Bank delivered 100 million won to the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters for bereaved families of firefighters who died while fighting a fire at a new construction site in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province in January.
The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters held a ceremony to deliver the consolation money on April 7 in the Video Conference Room on the 6th floor of the headquarters building in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon.
In attendance were Kwon Joon-hak, president of NongHyup Bank, Choi Bong-kap, an official of Korea Firemen¡¯s Mutual Aid Association and Choi Byung-il, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters among other VIPs.
¡°I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families of firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice to save the precious lives of the people,¡± Kwon said.
¡°All NongHyup Bank employees hope that the consolation money will help the bereaved families overcome their grief.¡±
¡°We will do our best to make our town and nation safer,¡± Choi said, thanking NongHyup Bank employees for expressing their condolences to the bereaved families and paying respect to the firefighters who died.
The consolation money will be given to the bereaved families of three firefighters through a donation to the Korea Firemen¡¯s Mutual Aid Association.
Sports Marketing with Baseball Team
NongHyup Bank signed an agreement with the NC Dinos as the main sponsor for the baseball team for the 2022 season. This agreement was held as a pre-game event before the NC Dinos¡¯ home opener on April 2.
Choi Young-shik, a manager of NongHyup Bank Gyeongnam Headquarters made an announcement for the sponsorship for the 2022 season with Lee Jin-man, CEO of the NC Dinos on the ground at Changwon NC Park.
NongHyup Bank has been sponsoring the NC Dinos, the ninth club of the KBO Baseball League, since the team joined the league 10 years ago.
Every year, NongHyup Bank supports the marginalized in local communities with funds raised through home run zone and home save record events with the baseball team.
Hug Farm Financial Education Program
NongHyup Bank announced on April 13 that it will implement the Hug Farm Financial Education Program that combines participatory financial education for families and Korean agricultural product shopping at the Youth Financial Education Center across the country in celebration of the month of families.
¡°In celebration of the month of families, we have prepared the participatory financial education participatory financial education that families can enjoy together,¡± President Kwon said.
¡°In the future, we will fuel people¡¯s interest in financial education by combining various topics such as the use of Korean agricultural products with financial education.¡±
The Hug Farm Financial Education Program consists of participatory financial education such as working at branches of NongHyup Bank for one day for elementary school students and financial education using digital fintech, and Hug Farm Market, where participants can directly purchase Korean agricultural products and processed rice.
Selection of Partner Farm
NongHyup Bank announced on April 12 that President Kwon visited Sky Farm, an agricultural company in Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do, and held an event to commemorate the bank¡¯s selection of Sky Farm as a partner farm.
The day before, President Kwon held a signboard ceremony with Koh Hwa-sun, CEO of Sky Farm, and listened to Sky Farm¡¯s know-how in food manufacturing using Korean agricultural products.
¡°I will do my best to play the original and basic roles of NongHyup Bank, a bank for farmers and the agricultural industry by actively discovering and supporting food manufacturing companies using Korean agricultural products like Sky Farm,¡± Kwon said.
Since last year, NongHyup Bank has been selecting farming companies as partners with the purpose of promoting the win-win growth of farms and agro-food companies.
This year, the bank is planning to select a total of 10 companies to help them continue to grow together with farms through preferential financial treatments, product sales and publicity support.
