NH NongHyup Financial Group, led by Chairman Son Byung-hwan, held the 10th Anniversary Ceremony of NongHyup Finance at its headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul on March 2.
The event was attended by former and current financial holding company chairmen, the labor union chairman, and employees.
The financial group minimized the number of attendees in consideration of the spread of the Omicron variant. It was streamed live on YouTube.
On the day, at the ceremony, NH NongHyup Financial Group set “Every Moment of Finance, 100 Years of NH NongHyup” as its new vision for NongHyup Finance. The labor and management declared the vision together.
The vision statement reflects NH NongHyup Financial Group’s will to provide happy experiences to customers based on group synergies and digital competitiveness, and to become a financial group with lasting viability by realizing a living finance ecosystem that encompasses the financial and non-financial sectors.
In order to achieve its vision, NH NongHyup Financial Group decided to pursue five key strategic tasks - Nurturing the main channels of living finance platforms, the promotion of differentiated global business, leading ESG management, the consolidation of a specialized agricultural finance institution and the realization of partnership finance for customers’ whole lives.
For the purpose of leading ESG management, NH NongHyup Financial Group plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 by establishing a company-wide climate change response system and expanding green finance through investment in eco-friendly companies, energy and infrastructure and product development.
As NH NongHyup Financial Group has been a traditional powerhouse in agricultural finance and social contribution activities, it is expected to boost the value of its financial services and customer trust by reinforcing its strategic position as an ESG leader.
“I ask NH NongHyup Financial Group employees to have more expertise and an insight into future,” Chairman Son told employees. “Let’s create a new 10 years and even a new 100 years of NH NongHyup finance together.”
Meanwhile, NH NongHyup Financial Group will introduce a wide variety of eco-friendly financial products to mark its 10th anniversary.
To keep pace with the advancement of ESG management at the group level, the financial group plans to launch various credit card, insurance, promissory notes, funds, leases, and savings products as “Right Earth” packages.
The “Right Earth” packages are linked to the first prize winner of the NongHyup Financial ESG Idea Contest in September of last year.
They are green financial products which provide various preferential benefits during eco-friendly activities and help them eco-friendly consumption and the protection of the environment.
In a related development, NH NongHyup Financial Group opened NH Vision Town, a virtual experience space in the Roblox metaverse world and offer various events and programs.
