KB Kookmin Bank announced on March 14 that it will expand its ¡°9To6 Bank,¡± which stays open until 6 p.m., to 72 locations nationwide.

9To6 Bank is a key project of the new KB Kookmin Bank President Lee Jae-keun.

Observers say that KB Financial Group Chairman Yoon Jong-kyu¡¯s ¡°consumer-friendly DNA¡± business philosophy was applied to the project.

9To6 Bank is a specialized branch in the form of extending the business hours of KB Kookmin Bank branches from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Despite the expansion of non-face-to-face online transactions, the move was aimed at providing differentiated customer experiences by expanding customer contacts in financial service sectors where face-to-face channel service, such as asset management and loan consulting, are in high demand.

The 9To6 Bank System will be applied to 72 KB Kookmin Bank branches nationwide, including Chungcheong Province, Daegu, Busan and Gwangju, as well as the Seoul metropolitan area.

9To6 Bank branches can be found on Kookmin Bank¡¯s website or mobile app KB Star Banking.

Workers of 9To6 Bank branches consist of a morning group and an afternoon group. The morning group works from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the afternoon group from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

As a result, busy customers who have been unable to visit during 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. business hours, such as office workers and self-employed people, can also receive financial counseling by visiting from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

KB Kookmin Bank plans to create a flexible working environment through the 9To6 Bank System to boost employees¡¯ work satisfaction and morale.

Thanks to the system, the choice has been expanded so that KB Kookmin Bank employees who are working mothers can use the morning hours to send their children to school and employees who want self-development can work during their desired working hours in consideration of their own life cycles.

However, 9To6 Bank branches currently run until 5:30 after reducing the bank¡¯s business hours to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

¡°9To6 Bank is a new paradigm in branch management by further making existing face-to-face channels that provide specialized financial services more convenient for customers,¡± a KB Kookmin Bank official said. ¡°We will enhance customer convenience by continuing to secure innovative customer contact points.¡±
