Shinhan Bank announced on March 8 that Shinhan Bank Cambodia, Shinhan Bank¡¯s Cambodian subsidiary, opened its Ta Khmau branch in Cambodia.
Ta Khmau is the capital and largest city of Kandal Province in central Cambodia. The city is about 11 km south of Phnom Penh.
The region is a middle-class residential area with huge growth potential. The branch is expected to increase convenience for customers.
Shinhan Bank Cambodia plans to open 13 more branches in the second half of this year, focusing on major regional hubs.
In addition, it is actively expanding not only face-to-face channels such as the opening of additional offline branches, but also non-face-to-face online channels based on digital technology.
In November 2021, the Korean lender successfully introduced a non-face-to-face credit loan application process that allows users to immediately check whether the loan is approved by completely upgrading user interfaces (UIs) and user experiences (UXs) of the mobile platform Cambodia SOL.
In particular, Shinhan Bank Cambodia launched E-Tuktuk loans for drivers for the first time in Cambodia by forging a strategic partnership with Tada expanding mobility services centered on the capital city of Phnom Penh.
It is planning to secure new local customers by launching an E-Tuktuk-linked electronic wallet service in the future.

Shinhan Bank announced on March 11 that President Jin Ok-dong won the plaque of merit at a ceremony held in honor of the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the Korea Standards Association.

The Korea Standards Association was established based on the Industrial Standardization Act in 1962.
