Hana Financial group Holds Ground-Breaking Ceremony for Cheongna Hana Dream Town HQ

Hana Financial Group launched a project to build Hana Dream Town headquarters in Cheongna International City. The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority sees the construction of Hana Dream Town headquarters as part of efforts to make Cheongna International City a financial hub.

Hana Financial group held a ground-breaking ceremony for Cheongna Hana Dream Town headquarters on Feb. 15, IFEZA said.

Among people on hand at the event were Hana Financial Group Chairman Kim Jung-tai, Vice Chairman Ham Young-joo, Rep. Kim Kyo-heung, Rep. Shin Dong-keun, Chairman Shin Eun-ho of Incheon City Council, Incheon Vice Mayor Cho Taek-sang in charge of balanced development and IFEZA Commissioner Lee Won-jae.

Hana Dream Town will be built on a lot covering 246,671 sq. meters, and the project will cost more than 730 billion won. Hana Dream Town will accommodate a data center, a key facility of Hana Financial Group, Hana Global Campus and the financial group¡¯s headquarters.

The project was launched in 2014. Hana Financial Group is the sole financial institution to do so in Songdo International City.

Now 1,800 employees work at an integrated data center, which was dedicated in 2017 in the first phase project. Hana Global Campus was dedicated in the second phase project in 2019.

The third stage project, which was launched on Feb. 16, calls for building Hana Dream Town Headquarters, a structure of seven basement floors and 15 ground floors with 128,474 Sq. meters in combined floor space.

When dedicated, Hana Dream Town Headquarters will accommodate six subsidiaries of the financial groups, including Hana Bank, Hana Card, Hana Financial Investment and Hana Life Insurance.

Hana Financial Group is converging IT infrastructure, manpower development and duty capabilities in Cheongna International City to upgrade them in accordance with an era of digitalization and globalization beyond the financial boundary, a departure from each subsidiary¡¯s separate dispersion management.

If Hana Dream Town Headquarters is dedicated, it is expected to help Cheongna International City establish itself as a financial hub and make Hana Dream Town Headquarters a landmark of the city.

The design of Hana Dream Town Headquarters, done by the renowned architectural designer NBBJ, won the Top Award of the Year for this year.

Hana Dream Town Headquarters was recognized for its excellent architectural beauty by being the winner of the unfinished work category in the 2021 Best of Year Awards from the U.S. Interior Design.

Hana Group Chmn. Kim said Hana Dream Town Headquarters in Cheongna will be the financial group¡¯s powerful off-line platform, a space opening to the public around the year, promoting shared growth with the local society and pursuing transition to digital financing.
