Korea Midland Power Co. (KOMIPO), recognizing the spread of ESG management as a key to shared growth, is spearheading the spread of ESG management along with its cooperative companies. 

In particular, KOMIPO, considering shared growth of the corporate ecosystem as growth strategy of post-COVID-19 era, stresses shared growth among large- and small-sized companies in combined cycle power generation and networking, major features of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

KOMIPO is offering support tailored to meet demand companies¡¯ needs by lending an ear via diverse channels such as field meetings to so that its cooperative companies can be armed with ESG capabilities. 

KOMIPO has contributed to building a transparent management environment of cooperative companies by helping their cooperative companies certified with the anti-bribery standard ISO37001 to brace for due diligence into the supply chain and undergo an educational program to minimize risks related to the ESG supply chain. 

KOMIPO¡¯s efforts paid off. An ESG capability evaluation of 50 cooperative exporters showed that 28 companies demonstrated their higher ESG management levels by obtaining an excellent ESG company certificate. 




Korea Midland Power Co. (KOMIPO) offered a program to educate its cooperative companies¡¯ executives and staffers about concept and necessity of ESG last Oct. 13.


KOMIPO is exploring and nurturing innovative startups in decarbonization and digital sectors that will lead the pos-pandemic era on top of the conventional cooperative companies.

In 2021, the power company designated 10 teams in areas such as AI-enabled water purification of floating photovoltaic power and waste plastic pyrolysis liquefaction facility and offered 50 million to each company for a combined 500 million won. 

KOMIPO plans to help the companies explore overseas markets by conducting field verification at plants and test-bed at plants operated by KOMIPO. 

KOMIPO President Kim Ho-bin said, ¡°KOMIPO, recognizing shared growth with stakeholders and cooperative companies as a core part of ESG management, will do not spare efforts to raise its cooperative companies¡¯ ESG capabilities and support the spread of ESG management.¡± 

In 2022, KOMIPO will spearhead the spread of ESG management in the corporate ecosystem by aggressively developing leading youth venture models in new energy technology, safety and renewable energy sectors, he said.'''




KOMIPO Management Conducts Field Safety Inspection

KOMIPO management began to conduct field safety inspection into all worksites to brace for the Lunar New Year holiday from Jan. 5 in the wake of the enforcement of the Act on the Punishment of Serious Disasters. 

The latest inspection was designed to see if thorough safety management steps were taken in accordance with management¡¯s greater responsibility following the enforcement of the act and reaffirm management¡¯s top priority to safety on top of preventing serious disasters at high-risk jobs such as construction.
