Toray Advanced Materials Korea (TAK) held a ceremony to kick off the 2022 business year, heralding a fresh start to the new year on Jan. 3.
The ceremony took place at TAK headquarters in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, with a limited number of people from each worksite in attendance and it was telecast live over operations across the nation.
In his New Year¡¯s message, President Jeon Hae-sang forecasted that the burden on corporate management, from things like raw material prices and disrupted supply chains, will continue to rise in 2022 along with expectations for an economic recovery.
President Jeon stressed that this year, TAK should concentrate on changes in customers and markets, strategically choose, and find answers by changing its perspectives from inside to outside.
In an speech of encouragement, Chairman Lee Young-kwan called for the company to make a leap forward to become a ¡°super tip-tier company¡± that will be responsible for the development of the Korean material industry.
Vice Chairman Kataoka Tomohiko and Vice President Lim Hee-seok also gave New Year¡¯s greetings.
Vice-Chairman Kataoka emphasized the importance of an open organizational culture, and Vice President Lim expressed hope the new year will be a year to take a step forward toward towards its goal.

TAK Donates 10 Million Won to Help Needy Neighbors to Gumi City
Toray Advanced Materials Korea (TAK) delivered a 10 million won donation to help neighbors in need at Gumi City Hall on Jan. 21.
Among those on hand at a ceremony to deliver the money were Lee Byung-guk, head of TAK¡¯s Gumi operation, Lim Dong-sup in charge of personnel management in Gumi and Ha Hyun-tae, chief of the trade union.
The money TAK executives and staffers donated on a voluntary basis was delivered in person.
Lee said, ¡°Even though it is important for a company to yield a profit, our company always strives to reinvigorate the regional economy and promote shared growth with neighborhood residents.
TAK will conduct diverse social contribution activities Gumi citizens want to do.¡±
Gumi Mayor Chang Se-yong said, ¡°I extend thanks for your aggressively joining forces in sharing, and I hope a warm heart will be spread to our neighbors to give hope and encouragement to overcome hardships in their lives.¡±
TAK executives and staffers have been conducting volunteer activities and continues basis. They have chipped in and delivered money to help the needy neighbors every year.
