REB Publishes Ethics Guideline on Renovation Projects
Korea Real Estate Board (REB) released a guideline on the ethics of reconstruction and redevelopment, a step to make renovation projects transparent and sound last Dec. 29.
The release of the guideline is designed to address the repeated occurrence of problems related to renovation projects, and it is expected to be utilized as a guidebook on reconstruction and redevelopment project disputes, wrongdoings and project delays.
In particular, the guideline contains ethics and conduct codes of union executives, precautions on the handling of contracts, and divulging of malpractices by inspection teams.
It is expected to help each reconstruction and redevelopment union legislate conduct codes and operate them.
REB was designated as an institution designed to provide support to renovation projects in January 2018.
The board has so far proactively performed roles of the renovation project support institution, such as public consultation on redevelopment and reconstruction projects, policy support on renovation project management and support on the supply of public rental houses through renovation projects.
Please call REB¡¯s Urban Renovation Support Department at 053-663-8741 for malpractices related to the signing of contracts by union executives.
REB President Sohn Tae-rak said, ¡°REB will support the transparent operation and rational decision-making of reconstruction and redevelopment projects on the part of unions and contractors.¡±
