KHNP Signs MOU on Commercialization of Carbon Neutrality Technologies Related to Hydrogen Energy-Based Cement Industry with KICET
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Struck an MOU on the commercialization of carbon neutrality technologies related to hydrogen energy-based cement industry with Korea Institute of Ceramic Engineering and Technology (KICET) on Feb. 17.
Both sides plan to make a joint study on ways of utilizing hydrogen energy in cement production processes, contributing to achieving carbon neutrality.
The deal calls for the two entities to develop technologies to use hydrogen fuel as a heat source in the cement production processes and produce synthesis gases using emission gases from cement product processes as well as cooperating in the verification and commercialization of technologies related to transition to hydrogen energy and carbon neutrality.
KHNP plans to secure a whole cycle of hydrogen technologies related to carbon neutrality by utilizing KICET¡¯s excellent technology support and network and accelerate its entry to new businesses. Both sides plans to materialize details and explore joint R&D tasks.
Jang Pil-ho, head of KHNP New Business Division, said, ¡°The two entities will close cooperate in contributing to reinvigorating carbon neutrality and hydrogen economy through the cement industry¡¯s energy transition to hydrogen.¡±
