President Kim Jung-ryul of Korea Land and Geospatial Information Corp. (LX) pledged to make a great leap forward through digital innovation in 2022.
LX held a ceremony to kick off the 2022 business year along with 12 regional headquarters across the nation, along with educational and research institutes, on Jan. 4.
A limited number of LX’s major executives and staffers participated in the event, which was streamed online, to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his New Year’s message, President Kim said, “Nothing is more important than wanting badly to concentrate and immerse in. If we revive wisdom of reviewing and recounting and put our heart and soul every moment, the year 2022 will be a significant year for us to make a great leap forward through digital innovation.”
“Offering services people experience in their life by developing digital twin service models, and converting them with metaverse is the task we have to carry out,” President Kim said.
“Three-dimensioned cadaster will be institutionalized to raise the levels of the territory, and LX will take the lead in exploring the overseas construction market of combining and converging geospatial information and social overhead capital,“ President Kim said.
Ahead of the enforcement of the Act on the Punishment of Serious Disasters, regional headquarters and branch offices will be a control tower to take measures to make worksites safe, he said.
LX will do its utmost to expand new industries and raise added values through overall innovation with a spirit of the bravery of the tiger in the Year of Tiger, he said.

The following are excerpts of President Kim’s message. No one was more desperate than LX in regards to the Act last year.
”We had managed to wrap up public hearings after many ups and downs, coming closer to realizing the act. It was made possible since everyone had joined forces with one mind,” he said.
“LX will do its utmost to expand future new industries and raise added values of core businesses with a spirit of the bravery of the tiger in the Year of Tiger,” he said.
First, he said the company will open up virtual territory. The number of digital twins, including the nation’s first digital twin industrial complex, has expanded to 15 across the nation. But it was almost half of what has been done.
Offering services people experience in their daily life by developing digital twin services and converging them with metaverse is a tasks they have to perform, he said.
This will lead to laying the foundation for convergence and multi-disciplinary industries and creating jobs, thus making people to be sympathized with them.
Second, LX will raise the levels of territory by institutionalizing a three-dimensioned cadaster.
“We’ll concentrate our all capabilities to offer geospatial information services to raise people’s safety and benefits, ranging from underground integrated maps to drone maps. This will solidify our status by building digital social overhead capital,” he said.
Third, hey will take the lead in exploring the overseas construction markets of combining and converging geospatial information and social overhead capita.
Lastly, safety is the foremost value surpassing all others.
