KB Kookmin Bank announced that Lee Jae-keun, took office as new president of KB Kookmin Bank on Jan. 3.
Lee presented four key management directions at the inauguration ceremony, saying, ¡°I would like to thank 32 million KB Kookmin Bank customers who trust and support KB Kookmin Bank, shareholders and directors for giving me this great responsibility as the head of KB Kookmin Bank, and employees doing their best for the development of the bank.¡±
President Lee emphasized the four key management directions - strengthening competitiveness in customer-centered services, upgrading business models for future growth, creating a young and dynamic organizational culture and fulfilling the bank¡¯s social responsibilities.
¡°Customers really matter in the whole business process of KB Kookmin Bank, from the beginning to the end,¡± President Lee said in his inauguration speech.
¡°We will continue to improve the completeness of KB Kookmin Bank as a digital universal bank so that KB¡¯s platforms, including KB Star Banking can pervade customers¡¯ daily lives.¡±
Lee also stressed that all KB Kookmin Bank branches around the country will push for the completion of the bank¡¯s omni-channel system, which is closely connected to mobile platforms and call centers.
In addition, Lee added that he will strengthen various business models to generate profits despite uncertainties in the future, and that momentum will be secured through reorganization such as a transformation to the second KB-Kookmin Bank-type platform.
Lee promised to further upgrade the PG 2.0 Sales System to increase the sales competitiveness of branches, which are the foundation of KB Kookmin Bank¡¯s growth, and lead a paradigm shift in face-to-face sales by successfully establishing the 9 To 6 Bank System.
KB Kookmin Bank plans to provide comprehensive financial services, operate specialized branches for each business within the base, and strengthen collaborative marketing contents between branches by expanding its Universal Hub Stores through the PG 2.0 System.
Simply put, ¡°9 to 6¡± Branches are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This system targets customers who had difficulty in offline banking. It is one of President Lee¡¯s business initiatives.
Financial industry analysts say that it is a strategy to maximize the strengths of branches in competition with big tech companies.
Moreover, Lee mentioned that he will yield tangible positive results by setting management capabilities on key growth areas such as wealth management (WM), corporate and investment banking (CIB), the capital market, global and new digital business sectors such as the MyData, and platform business.
¡°We need to make the way we work more innovative and dynamic,¡± Lee emphasized with regard to KB Kookmin Bank¡¯s organizational culture.
¡°We need to set bold goals and do our best to the end, and put Team KB, where all employees can gather strength and wisdom for the bank¡¯s victory, front and center. I want to create an organization where unsung heroes who fulfill their roles and responsibilities are duly recognized and fairly compensated.¡±
Lee noted that it is necessary to be deeply aware of the roles and responsibilities of financial companies in society and the Korean economy, and take the lead in practicing the values of win-win and inclusive finance at a time when COVID-19 pandemic and prolonged economic downturn are taking tolls on many people¡¯s lives.
Lee called on every member of KB Kookmin Banmk to spare no effort in not only in providing financial support for small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners, but also in support startups in the new growth and innovation fields such as the Green New Deal.
¡°KB Kookmin Bank also has to set a good example for others in ESG management and social contributions,¡± he added.
