Hana Bank will develop an integrated application for Korea University with the school. The application will also have a simple payment function in addition to a reservation function for the use of school facilities such as libraries. It is part of a smart campus construction project.
Hana Bank announced on December 6 that it signed a business agreement with Korea University to build a smart campus. The core project is the development of an integrated app for Korea University.
The application will combine functions such as mobile student ID cards, academic management, and reservations for school facilities.
In particular, the application will feature functions of the tentatively named KUPAY that allow simple payment through barcodes and QR codes.
KUPAY is used to pay for convenience facilities at school such as student restaurants, in-school multifunctional printers and certificate kiosks.
In the future, Hana Bank and Korea University will allow payments to be made at stores near the school and use it as a means of paying school research mileage and scholarships.
Hana Bank will develop the integrated application in two stages with Korea University. First of all, with the aim of launching the application for the spring semester of 2022, the payment function will be applied based on mobile student IDs currently in use.
In the second stage, additional functions will be loaded into the application by the end of August. Then the use of payment will be expanded to the Korea University Medical Center so application will come in handy when its users use medical services at the Korea University Medical Center.
¡°I think it is meaningful to participate as an important partner in the construction of a smart campus of Korea University which use Hana Bank as its main bank,¡± said Park Sung-ho, president of Hana Bank.
¡°We will share our know-how in building the integrated app with other universities down the road.¡±

¡°I expect the application to become an efficient communication and sharing platform reflecting users¡¯ opinions in the future.¡±
