The 2021 Seoul Mobility Show, the nation¡¯s biggest motor show, will raise the curtain at KINTEX in Goyang, north of Seoul, on Nov. 26.
About 100 companies and institutions from six countries will participate in categories such as automaker brand, parts, mobility, mobility life, incubating zone, and international pavilion sectors.
The motor show will take place for 10 days from Nov. 26. Participating in the automaker brand sector are Korean three brands - Kia Motors, Genesis and Hyundai Motor - and foreign seven brands, including Audi, BMW, Isuzu, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Mini and Porsche.
Automaker exhibitors are expected to release 18 new cars - four that will premiere in Asia and 14 others premiering in Korea.
They will also showcase new technologies, such as hydrogen fuel cell batteries, EV platforms, AI infortainment systems, digital side mirrors and vehicular semiconductors.
The 2021 Seoul Mobility Show Organizing Committee said the upcoming show will be a mobility-oriented exhibition based on new technologies, taking into account electrification for carbon neutrality, the emergence of new mobility sectors, such as self-driving, UAM, robots and Mobility as-a Service (MaaS) and their growth potential.
In October, the committee changed the name of the Seoul Motor Show to Seoul Mobility Show.
About 20 exhibitors in the mobility sector will participate, include Daechang Motors, Master Motors, Blueshark, SK Telecom, EV KMC and Club No.1. Five exhibitors in the mobility life sector will partake in the show.
They will display AI-based infortainment service, EV charging services for homes using photovoltaic power, EV charging platforms and vehicle rental services and mobility care services.
The Incubating Zone to be introduced by the committee during the upcoming show will be created by the Korea Technology and information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA) and KAIST.
The zone will target startups. Startup exhibitors, such as Gotcha, Vestellalab, Ssenstone and Coconut Silo have disclosed their intention to participate in the show.
The committee held a meeting with reporters to go over preparations for the show at the Automobile Hall in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on Nov. 10.

The 2021 Seoul Mobility Show has been put on hold twice due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The upcoming show will be held at the second exhibition center of KINTEX for 10 days between Nov. 26 and Dec. 5.
The show will be opened to the general public from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on weekdays and until 6 p.m. on weekends.
The committee said the upcoming show will be characterized by the building of the future mobility ecosystem, supporting exhibitors¡¯ business activities, spreading of exhibitions and the riding of eco-friendly vehicles on top of mobility-oriented corporate exhibitors¡¯ exhibitions.
Chairman Chung Man-ki of the committee said, ¡°The Seoul Motor Show, which made its debut in 1995, is looking for a leap forward under the new name Seoul Mobility Show to comply with carbon neutrality, self-driving representing big data and AI and the development of the mobility industry.¡±
The Seoul Mobility Show will be evolved into Asia¡¯s representative global technology exhibition embracing not only the automobile sector but also robots, drones and other new mobility segments as well as the mobility sharing economy, Chairman Chung said.
