KPX Launches Project to Build Platform to Disclose Smart Electricity Transaction Data
Designated by MOIS as institution responsible for disclosing public data in the power transaction sector

Korea Power Exchange (KPX) said it launched a project to set up a platform to disclose smart electricity transaction data.
It is part of an initiative to cope with rising demand for public data on power transactions and correspond to the government¡¯s policy of releasing public data.
The move is part of the government¡¯s realization of an advanced society through the disclosing of data to the public as one of its policy agendas.
KPX has been designated as one of the institutions responsible to disclose public data in the power transaction sector under a plan being implemented by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS).

KPX plans to disclose quality power transaction data by the end of 2021 under a related roadmap.
KPX is implementing the project based on private sector demand in a continuous fashion, a departure from simply quantitative data disclosure.
Forty-six sectors, including self-driving and smart city, have been designated as areas whose public data will be disclosed to the public under the MOIS¡¯s plan.
Under the project, KPX plans to survey the privates sector¡¯s demand and explore data; establish a regime to manage the quality of data disclosed to the public; build a database of opening public data according to disclosure standards; develop an open API; and establish mid- and long-term strategies to disclose data on a continuous basis.
KPX plans to build a database to disclose public data by the end of November and offer public power transaction data and open API through the platform by the end of this year. KPX plans to explore power transaction data through the platform .
Meanwhile, an SME company responsible for building the platform to disclose power transaction data will utilize related power IT maintenance and management technologies it secured under KPX¡¯s program to support SME¡¯s shared growth.
KPX Announces Winners of ESG Management Contest
KPX announced the nine winning ideas to put into practice ESG management on Aug. 18.
A public idea content was conducted between July 1 and July 30. It was designed to explore ideas to spur aggressive administration tailored to meet people¡¯s needs.
One top prize winner, three prominent prize winners and five participation prizes were selected based on people¡¯s awareness levels, aggressiveness, creativity and ESG.
The winning idea was about the promotion of a public service on power supply based on temperature data. It was about the suggestion of an idea related to KPX¡¯s offering of real-time power supply information based on power supply changes, caused by abnormal temperatures, together with temperatures.
