Doosan Fuel Cell Power Business Unit, Doosan Fuel Cell and Doosan Mobility Innovation participated in the H2 Mobility+Energy Show 2021, where they showcased their latest products and services. The event took place at KINTEX in Ilsan, north of Seoul, from Sept. 8 to 11.

The H2 Mobility+Energy Show 2021, the nation¡¯s largest hydrogen industry exhibition, attracted 140 related companies in three categories: hydrogen mobility, hydrogen charging infrastructure and hydrogen energy.

The 2021 H2 Mobility+Energy Show, the second rendition, was hosted by 2 Mobility+Energy Show Organizing Committee and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT).

The three subsidiaries of Doosan Group displayed a variety of eco-friendly energy technologies, including the Tri-gen, producing hydrogen, electricity and heat at the same time, hydrogen fuel cells for households/buildings/power generation and hydrogen drones.

Doosan Fuel Cell Business Unit exhibited the polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) for 10kW buildings and 1kW households and unveiled the solid oxide fuel cell (SOFEC) for 10kW buildings, boasting the world¡¯s best power generation efficiency, for the first time.

The SOFC product sees power generation efficiency over 40 percent more than that of the PEMFC products.

Doosan Fuel Cell displayed diverse content, such as a miniature whose size is 75 percent of its actual one and interactive touch-walls, steps to give spectators the chance to experience fuel cells in an indirect fashion.

The Tri-gen, which is to go into a verification process early next year, has been introduced. The Tri-gen, capable of producing hydrogen electricity and heat at once, may be used at diverse areas such as multi-purpose charging via both hydrogen and electricity, hot water supply and district heating.

In particular, it has strengths: supplying hydrogen with the highest competitive edge, responding elastically to demand for hydrogen for mobility, conveniently charging EVs and reducing greenhouse gas emissions using the carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) technology.

It is the first time this year the Tri-gen has advanced to the main competition of the H2 Innovation Award in the hydrogen charging infrastructure category.

The inaugural H2 Innovation Awards ceremony is an event in which new products and technologies in the hydrogen sector are unveiled and awards are presented.

Ten companies in three categories have advanced to the final round, and winners are to be announced following a presentation session and the final screening process at the site of the exhibition on Sept. 9.

DMI introduced the windproof, waterproof, DS30W hydrogen drone. The drone can endure a wind blowing at an average speed of 12m meters per second and an instantaneous velocity of 15 meters per second and it has obtained IP43 certificate on waterproof and dust proof. It can fly in a perilous environment such as a treacherous weather and dust.

The drone has its performance improved with the aviation range rising from an average of 45 km to 60 km.

A Doosan official said Doosan¡¯s differentiated hydrogen products and technologies had been showcased during the exhibition and Doosan will accelerate efforts to conduct continued R&D and build a collaborative regime with related companies.

Doosan Fuel Cell Participates in Joint Pilot Fuel Cell Project at Ulsan Mipo Industrial Complex

Doosan Fuel Cell struck an MOU on a pilot project to jointly utilize byproduct hydrogen from the Ulsan Mipo Industrial Complex with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, Hyundai Motor, LS ELECTRIC and SK Gas on Sept. 3.

Under the agreement, the participants will build a fuel cell plant corresponding to load, based on byproduct hydrogen from the Ulsan Mipo Industrial Complex.

It is a pilot project to adjust power generation according to the system marginal price (SMP), connected with the virtual power plant platform and fuel costs.

Doosan Fuel Cell will produce base load via the 3.08MW Phosphoric Acid Fuel Cell (PAFC) and offer long-term maintenance services.
