LS ELECTRIC has released a new high-performance inverter, a core component in smart factory automation facilities, and announced a plan to expand the business.

LS ELECTRIC unveiled G100 (General 100) series, a new strategic product designed to make inroads into the next-generation inverter market, for the first time.

The company said on June 18 that it will focus its business resources on capturing 50 percent of the domestic inverter market within the next 5 years.

An inverter is a device that controls the speed of motors at a high efficiency level by optimizing the voltage and frequency of electric power supplied to the motor from the outside.

Due to the advantages of saving energy and improving qualities, inverters are widely used in all kinds of automation equipment, ranging from ventilators to pumps, machine tools, and textile machines.

The G100 series was developed as a general-purpose product to expand its presence in the inverter market.

The capability to adjust products to match the unique characteristics of each industry maximizes user convenience. Its compact design also minimizes cost, because there is no need for additional space.

Furthermore, the G100 series produces high torque at all driving speeds. This means that, in addition to conventional inverter applications like fans and pumps, the G100 could also be used in inventory systems, textile equipment, machine tools, and cranes (hoist).

Therefore, the company is very optimistic that it could expand further into the market.

From the product planning stage, the G100 was designed to be assembled at the automated production lines of the company’s smart factory in Cheonan, Chungcheongbuk-do.

The automated production line enabled the company to realize 100 percent automated production for the first time in the automation industry.

Moreover, the hourly productivity was 240% higher than that of the conventional production line, and the assembly defect rate improved to almost 0 percent, ensuring the world-class efficiency and productivity.

LS ELECTRIC plans to firmly establish its No. 1 position in the market based on the advantages of its general-purpose drive, which can be used in all industries, and the reliability of their products.

Through this strategy, the company believes it will be possible to expand its market share from 35 percent to 50 percent within 5 years.

The domestic market for low-pressure inverters is currently valued at around 250 billion won.

However, the demand for inverters is expected to grow rapidly due to factors like strengthened ESG management that is driving the movement toward lowering carbon emissions, smart factories provided by the government, and government policy of using domestic components, materials, and equipment.
